I think they mentioned she was from the Caribbean (is that actually a name or an adjective ? whatever). But if she's supposed to be Jamaican, then the accent is as bad as DB's "irish" one.

Really ? She always sounded like English wasn't her mother tongue, so it's hard to tell, but it definitely doesn't seem like an Irish accent. But then I'm not really an expert so...
LOL We have a diverse landscape of accents here, but I've never come across anything quite like Kendra's 😉 🙂

I remember hearing somewhere, magazine, commentary, whatever that Kendra's accent was Jamaican adn they had a really good dialect coach work with Bianca Lawson for ages so that she had an accent specific to one particular area of the island.
Money wasted, if you ask me, but then she got a job on a TV show and I write posts on a fan forum, so one of us is doing OK 🙂

I always thought it was Jamaican as well. A not-very-well-nurtured version of a Jamaican accent, but Jamaican nonetheless. I still loved Kendra, even though I might be biased, because....well, she was amazing on Sister, Sister. 😛

And yet, I could easily see Kendra and the Inca Mummy sitting down at the same cafe, having a cuppa, high up some mountain in Southern America somewhere. (different time zones notwithstanding)

Kendra was suppose to Jamaican.
Bianca Lawson stated that she was disappointed with her accent, and that she wished she had more time to prefect it. I believe she said that Kendra was originally American, until they changed her background story the day before they started shooting her scenes. So with that in mind, I give Bianca a pass.
