Kennedy vs. Rhona

Well, honestly, I loved Tara's character, but if I had it my way they would have brought Oz back to help Willow move on... I'm definitely more pro-Ozlow than Tillow. But Kennedy and the way she came after Willow annoyed me.. I don't know why, it just did. But if she had just been there to be a positive force in the Potentials I would have liked her more. Rona, on the other hand, I never liked and I didn't care if she lived through the big fight.

Rona was way worse.

Yeah, and Lady Lavinia is way off base. People don't just hate the potentials for questioning Buffy's authority. They were whiny, obnoxious, took away screen time from characters people actually wanted to watch, useless in a fight pretty much until Willow's spell. Honestly, what was there to like about them?

They were there to mindlessly follow her. Which was something I didn't like.

I agree with Revolver in the fact that they stole screen time from all the good charachters. Mostly anyway.

I'd much rather have seen the Scoobies fighting off the first alone than with a gang of girls. Just my opinion though 🙂

Urgh i didn't like Rona... at the "Ding Dong the Witches dead" bitty....i really hated her!

I like Kennedy alot, but not as much as Tara. I don't think it's fair to compare them directly as they're so different and both highly infulencial on Willow.

Kennedy and Vi were my favourite potentials!

I liked them both. Speaking your mind, regardless of TACT is dependant on circumstances and it was SO called for in Season 7. Rona was scared but she came through in the end. Sucked that Amanda died too.

Again, defender of the potentials here. Loved season 7 except for the fact that it was the end.

Well, I'm not exactly a defender of the potentials .. but the diversity in their personalities made it a lot more relative to the real world. Rona was a beeetch, plain and simple. And kudos to the writers, who I'm pretty sure intended for her to be less popular, for succeeding. I mean, they couldn't all be Buffy. Rona was just a different side of the potential spectrum - naggy, unappreciative, but she was also something that occurs naturally in people .. human. I mean not to disagree with the FACT that some of her flaws should have gotten her skin ripped off. 😛

I love season seven and didn't mind the potentials (molly and vi were great) but Kennedy and Rona i would certainly catorgorise as annoying. Rona's attitude was awful and yes the 'ding dong the witch is dead' line was just downright mean. Kennedy was also kind or bratish - though I often think that she is so disliked because the romance with Willow seemed kinda forced and unatural (and maybe, we as the audience weren't ready to have her move on from tara yet). If she and Willow hadn't got together maybe she wouldn't have seemed so bad.

It's interesting that many of you are more tolerant of Kennedy than Rona. And I cannot help but wonder why. Hmmmm . . .

If anyone has a thing against Rona it has to do the the Wicked witch is dead comment and not her skin color if that is what you are thinking.
The Potentials were like Season 4 Connor, only un-Super-Powered and without a valid reason to be pissed.

LOL True, true... Never thought of it that way before. :)

They are getting slaughtered world wide and they don't have a reason to be pissed? Hmmm.
Like I already said somewhere else, I really didn't mind Kennedy In fact, I quite liked her, because she was really the only one of the potentials with some sort of character. Rona I really couldn't stand. She's like early Dawn, but way more whiny and ungrateful. I think the only thing she ever did was complain. I can sort of understand the complaining, I mean, at first the chances of them all dying were way higher than most of them surviving, but at least Kennedy was like "Hey, we might die, but if so, let's do it kicking some demon butt"

I didn't really bond with ANY of the potentials. I thought they were all just kinda thrown in.
But, if I had to vote, I liked Rona LOTS better than Kennedy.

She did complain and maybe spoke out more than she should have, but I would have spoke out too.
Kennedy kinda just tried to weasel into the inner circle and acted like she was all "miss big wig". She was HORRIBLY annoying and I wanted her GONE.
She was certainly no substitute for Tara no matter how much she wants to be. And she seemed to kinda step on Tara (and Oz's) memory like we'd honestly believe Willow would fall for some floozy.

Can you tell how much I REALLY don't like Kennedy?

Newsflash - Willow did fall for her. What show were you watching? Deal!
I could sooner see Kennedy belonging in the inner-Circle since the other girls seemed below Dawn or Xander in fighting capabilities prior to Chosen, at least Kennedy didn't act defenseless.

Personally, I'd trade all the Newbie Slayers for Anya, Tara or Oz in S8.

Then you might as well accuse Buffy of being a "beetch", as well. Each of the Potentials symbolized a certain aspect of Buffy's character as a Slayer. Rona . . . symbolized Buffy's reluctance to be a Slayer and her distaste of the position.

The only Potential I never really liked was Vi. I found her boring.

That may be the most insightful comment I've seen on this site in about a month. Very cool and refreshing after so many Who is who isn't gay, who did or didn't love whoever and of course the Blue shirt controversy.

Tried not being sarcastic - didn't work for me.

I never had a problem with Kennedy other than the fact she was added as a replacement girlfriend for Willow far too quickly.
Rhona really did piss me off for all the reasons you stated. I just wanted to hit her as it felt like all that ever came out of her mouth was a load of whining and bitching. How I prayed she'd snuff it in 'Chosen'.

Rory, the context we were all speaking in (where you quoted me) was regarding how the Potentials treated Buffy. I don't think they did have a reason to blame Buffy.

Uncle Rory agrees: If anyone has a thing against Rona it has to do the the Wicked witch is dead comment and not her skin color if that is what you are thinking.

Considering that Dawn had kicked Buffy out of her own house - when she didn't have the right to do so - she had no business telling Rona to shut up. If I had been Rona, I would have told Dawn to take her hypocritical words and shove them up her ass.

I just felt bad that they both have a chance to touch the scythe instead of Vi.
I felt worse when my fav charcter, Faith throw the scythe to Rona (I wish she throw the scythe through Rona).
