Point taken, there is no formula. For me, it has taken about a year or more to get over past relationships. But that's just me and my...unhealthiness....

So, you're right, it may not be too soon for Willow, except for we haven't seen her grieving a whole lot for Tara. We've seen some, but not tons.

I guess I still would like to see her alone for a while...even more than seeing what's-his-name swooping in and resweeping her off her feet (He should swoop in, but they don't have to get back together...Though if it were me, I'd jump at that chance. But I digress...) Buffy is/has gone through an "I'm fine by myself" stage, and I think Willow would do well to do the same thing. She hasn't been alone since high school, and I think it would serve her well to take some time for herself.

She has been alone for a while, even though she was dating Tara, they never got the time they deserved because in that countries of yours that is called the US of A, the land unlimited possibilities homosexuality is still a little bit of an issue, and for all those who still doubt Willow's sexualily it might be best for her to jump in another relation, a heavier more physical one! ... 😀

I think it's good that they're introducing a new love interest for Willow. I mean, wouldn't you think Tara would want her to be happy? And I'm sure she isn't going to be happy being alone forever!

I think that it matters in this case, that Tara would want Willow to find hapiness elsewhere, that's another reason why she can jump to a new lover quicker! ... Tara was always gentle-hearted and would know that the best thing for Willow is to get hooked up with someone strong so she can heal the internal wounds, so she strenghten and overcome the power magic has on her!

the best thing for Willow is to get hooked up with someone strong so she can heal the internal wounds,

No, no, no. This is not the healthy thing to do, this is the unhealthy thing to do. It's called rebound, and it's carrying emotional issues from one relationship to the next. If she's still grieving over Tara, she won't be able to give much to the next person.

I'm not saying she needs to be alone forever. I'm not even saying she's not ready now, but what I am saying is using a new relationship to get over an old relationship is a Bad Idea. Also, being alone is OK...though, this may be something you only learn later in life...I only learned it a few years ago.

I agree. Its unhealthy to be dependent on other people. Willow has lived long enough by counting on someone always being there. She needs to learn who she is first and then add someone to that equation.

No No No! ... that's not what I ment, sure she needs to become stronger and she mustn't cary on her problems from one relation to the other!

she won't be able to give much to the next person.

If she picks the right person, that person will accept to not be fully loved back yet. Also I think Willow can stand on her own two feet, but that's not alsways good, I'm very independent and never really ask for anybody's help, but a lot of people say that's unhealty, to be on your own, to never ask for help if you need some ... and no she can't go to the other Scoobs with her problems. I can't really reason on why, but with friends it (to me) always feels like you have to be strong for them, you have to stand on your own feet or they'll think of you as weak. And that's exactly what you are also doing here, (though not for real, but .. you know) letting her feel like she's not strong enough, that she has to shut out her emotions, which is not too good either.

You mean how Buffy just used and mis-used Riley Finn trying to get over Angel??? Riley was nothing more than re-bound for her, and he did the right thing leaving when he did. No more Mr. Rebound Guy for him!!

What was it that Dawn said about Angel to Riley?

DAWN: She sure cries a lot less with you than she did with Angel.
RILEY: (surprised) Angel ... made her cry a lot, huh?
DAWN: Everything with him was all ... (grimaces, makes claw motions with hands) eee, you know?
RILEY: All...?
DAWN: You know ... "my boyfriend's a vampire" crazy crazy. (Riley nods) Every day was like the end of the world. She doesn't get all worked up like that over you.
Riley looks stung, but tries not to show it. Dawn realizes she didn't say the right thing.
DAWN: I think you've been really good for her.

No that's kinda not what I ment, I ment more like someone who you can really go to for help, to who you don't have to be strong. For who you don't have to prove anything, for who it is enough to just be yourself!

You know, that Riley/Dawn discussion always bothered me. It's the whole high-emotion equals passion equals true love thing. I don't buy it. Who wants to be on an emotional roller coaster for their whole life? "Oh no, my girlfriend had all this angst with another guy! I'm so wounded!" Dimwit should have been glad their relationship was more stable.

Frankly, I think that Riley acted like a spoiled brat at the end... "My girlfriend is going through this really tough time, and she's not letting me be what I want to be...WAAAH!" Sorry, I just don't think Buffy was the only one in the wrong there.

Actually you just conficed me she was, when Riley said he wanted to life, that was actually the smartest thing I saw him doing. I mean, she was all instable and sucking up all of his energy. He was only giving, never getting, and when he was on the receiving end, she didn't seem to really care, and in the end, she found him selfish ... for once I'm going to take a stand and say Riley did what he had to do!

No, Riley's complaint wasn't that Buffy was leaning on him too much, it was that she wasn't leaning on him enough. She dealt with everything on her own, and sort of pushed him away. She may not have been right to push him away, but it was her life and her emotions and she only knew how to deal with them in that way. Buffy is very much the loner when it comes to dealing emotionally, and Riley couldn't handle that.

Now, true, Buffy didn't act in the healthiest of ways, but for Riley to give her an ultimatim (sp) on top of everything she was going through was just selfish on his part.

Okay, so Riley should just have left and not have given her a chance to get him back!

Obviously I was too excited with the fact that Riley was finally leaving to really notice him saying why, but she was just as I also said kinda abusing him. Still the comparison with Willow still stands, the fact that Buffy is a loner and shut everybody out of her emotions is unhealthy and I don't think Willow can give herself fuly to her friends, maybe a little more to Giles, but if I look at how he reacted on her resurecting Buffy, I think this has had a tremendous influence on how she looks at him, I for one, would never forget it if I was Willow and Giles would have to do a lot more than restoring me after my abuse of magic to ever regain my trust and btw the restoration of Willow, is not really something Giles did, but more something Willow did on her own, after all she was the one, who could look into herself and really see what was going on. My point in all this being, it's far from over.

I for one, would never forget it if I was Willow and Giles would have to do a lot more than restoring me after my abuse of magic to ever regain my trust

You think Giles needs to restore Willow's trust?? Wow. I think Giles has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help Willow, both during Grave and in England. If you couldn't recognize that, then....wow, I would worry.

But regardless, I think all the scoobies have gone through their isolation period, and the show suffers when it happens (namely, seasons 4 and 6). I don't know where this new relationship will go, but I think the show is better when the core scoobies (and I include Anya, Spike, Dawn, and Tara/Oz in that category) work as a cohesive group, and aren't all splintered. So, I hope that continues, despite new relationships.

I know he helped her and all, but I said, if I were her. I would still distrust him, but that's just me!

I like 'em as a group too, but remember that Willow has in her youth been kind of a loner, since she was always a nerd!

I've made the same screenshots, but it's a little low res. I've taken the freedom to link 'em up here, since the Buffyworld forum also just stole 'em, I don't think they'll mind!

None of these really looks like Kennedy, maybe she's in the next episode, because Giles is supossed to pick a SIT from Shanghai up in that episode ... too bad, waiting another few weeks!

They all look pretty much alike to me....it's weird that they choose actresses that aren't more distinct. One of the cool things about Buffy/Willow/Cordy or even Buffy/Willow/Dawn is you had a lot of variety to look at....would have liked to see that with the SITs

Well we've only seen a glimps of them, I'm sure that after tuesday night you can all see the difference between them. I mean if you look at the last pic, the front one is blonde, the next has black curled hair and the last has brown hair and looks a little short. And that's just from one picture!
