The writer had made it a point to express that Spike receiving a "soul" definitely will not be like Angel. I also, heard he will not be human. I bet he would come back with a tail or something. They keep referring to the guy in the cave as a demon.(so, you know it's a catch in there somewhere , Plus, It seems like the writers sometimes like to play kick the Spike as much as the scoobie.
Connect the doc:
Did you notice , that the cave demon had beady red eyes, and a tail?hmmmm,now think who else do we know who had a 'tail".....DOC!. ...and
who was Riley looking for in "as you were"? oh, yeah that right, the "Doctor" who was trying to sale demon eggs on the black market. I remember last season when Buffy 's mom died, and Willow gave Dawn that book to do spells, she need some ingredient... oh yeah she need a "demon egg". So, Spike took her to...who was that? .....Doc!
I think that the soul, Spike receive might be "tainted" . I also, feel that "doc" from season 5, will return in season 7. Do anyone else feel that way? like he might come back wrong, or with a "tail"?
Kick the spike:
I was thinking that all the scoobie kept pointing out, or making joke about "how Spike is a soulless vamp" or he's evil and he doesn't have a soul, so he can't be trusted. it's as if the writers wanted to drum it into our heads. They (the scoobie) have never treated him this badly as they did this season. They have treated him better, before he was chip. But I was wondering why, all that so spike will feel shamed into getting a soul? Then it hit me,wouldn't it be a TWIST" if in season 7, we find out that the spell that Willow did backfire, and left them all soulless?
(The picture in "Afterlife", and the Urn did break before she finish the spell, that's why I thought of that).
note:I do not think Spike is aware of who the guy in the cave is, but I kept thinking of the "demon in the cave" and hope for the best, but we all know that everyone likes to play "kick the Spike".
