Hey, guys! Check this out!
These people are making a movie about the war which Mal an Zoe fought in. It sounds really interesting and I guess I'm not the only one who really wants to see this happen.

Here's the kickstarter page
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/829136455/browncoats-independence-war-a-firefly-fan-film
and here's a trailer for the movie:

If you like it, share this and help them finish their project! I think it's worth it!

Okay, guys. They made it to over $19,000 and their goal was $16,000. And there are still 3 days left! 🙂
I also backed the project and I'm looking forward to watching that little movie!

I think this is great- IF it happens... I'm really wary of donating my money to someone I don't know or to a project that may never get done. I hope the movie gets made, though, 'cause it seems pretty cool!

Are there any guarantees to donors on Kickstarter?

Also, the trailer doesn't look very Firefly-ie...

This is from the kickstarter homepage:
Who is responsible for completing a project as promised?

It's the project creator's responsibility to complete their project. Kickstarter is not involved in the development of the projects themselves.

Kickstarter does not guarantee projects or investigate a creator's ability to complete their project. On Kickstarter, backers (you!) ultimately decide the validity and worthiness of a project by whether they decide to fund it.

How do backers know if a project will follow through?

Launching a Kickstarter is a very public act, and creators put their reputations at risk when they do.

Backers should look for creators who share a clear plan for how their project will be completed and who have a history of doing so. Creators are encouraged to share links and as much background information as possible so backers can make informed decisions about the projects they support.

If a creator has no demonstrable experience in doing something like their project or doesn't share key information, backers should take that into consideration. Does the creator include links to any websites that show work related to the project, or past projects? Does the creator appear in the video? Have they connected via Facebook?

Don't hesitate to request information from a creator. You can always reach out before pledging via the "Contact me" button on the project page.

HisMrs Well, they reached their goal, which results in the project being made. If they keep their promise, of course... However, I'm fairly certain they will, as the project is already almost finished and they need the money mainly for costly post-production.

Looks interesting. It would be neat to hear what Nathan thought about it as he's always seemed to be a huge Firefly fan.
