the thread for the best movie so far this year...

this movie was....mind blowing...i can't believe how well made this film was...
 
🙁 Not yet released here, I'll surely go and see it, I think it will indeed be the best, second or third to best at the end of the year ... battle between, it, Revolutions and the Return of the King.
 
I saw it with a friend this on friday when it opened and I absolutly loved it, it was funny, the action sequences were great and there were some pretty nice looking women as well. One thing I have to say that I really enjoyed when Uma used her sword and spanked one of the crazy 88 dudes, that was really something special.
 
Oh man, I just saw it last night and I lurved it! I was sitting there in slack-jawed awe the whole time. Quentin Tarantino is a genius. Seriously, that movie rocked. And the soundtrack kicked @$$. Best movie this year. I can't wait until Volume 2 come out.

(also, this has nothing to do with the movie but, there were wicked good previews before the movie...I love previews!)
 
I wanna see it! Looks like a kick ass film, so Im up for it 😀
 
I'll probably watch it on my computer as soon as I can rather than going to the movies, but I want to see this so bad. You can tell from the commercials that it just has to be even better than they make it out to be. Uma is so sexy when she's fighting, and I can't wait to see the fight scene between her and Vivica A. Fox. And every since Ally McBeal, I've loved Lucy Lui. And ever since his appearance on Alias, I've loved Quentin Tarantino - even though he's just the director/writer for this.

I'm so glad you guys are giving it thumbs up - makes me want to see it even more.🙂
 
I was a little disappointed. There were a *LOT* of things about this movie I loved, but I also think Quentin made a few mis-steps with this one. Kinda crossing the line stuff.

I was willing to buy into the hillbilly rape scene in Pulp Fiction because it was absurd and silly and the drama and the comedy both worked for me. Kill Bill isn't funny to me. Too many yicky themes are introduced and they're just sort of exploitative.
Killing a mom in front of her young daughter (two separate times, in fact), raping a coma patient, and worst of all an 11-year-old killing her pedophile predator during sex....not funny. Not cool. Disturbing. I'd definitely never leave a small child alone with Quentin.

But the action scenes kicked major ass (although a little TOO gory for me, and I usually love blood) and the soundtrack was amazing (and amazingly synched to the action, especially in the final snow-covered courtyard battle)
 
lol...dolphin...thats what gave the movie its edge...cause it mirrored reality more than it portrayed fiction...

lol...there was this dude that went into the movie...he walked out with his young children when the amputations began...lol...who the falk would take they're young children into a movie like that??

LOL....it'll never cease to amaze me the crap people are willing to expose their children to, Gasm. When I was 15, my first-ever job was at a run-down Loews movie theatre. I got stuck working Christmas day, 'cause we were open and I was low-man on the seniority totem pole. We were showing Hellraiser 2 (a nice Christmas-y movie), and this sceezy-lookin' dude came in with his two kids, aged about seven and ten. He took a seven-year-old to see Hellraiser 2. ON CHRISTMAS! I wanted to reach accross the concession counter and rip out his snarglies, but I contented myself with severely over-salting his popcorn and wishing him a slow death by high blood pressure.
 
its an 18! lol. even tho im 17, i'll go see it 🙂 it looks so kewl. an is comeing out anyday now over her in the uk 😀 the yellow trousers an jacket Bill wears is a pop culture reference to bruce lee btw.
 
I wanted to see it, but my sister saw it before me. She began to describe the horrible images and I never want to see this movie. I thought there'd just be bloody sword fights.

Okay, now you guys are really freaking me out... how bad does it get? I don't have the strongest stomach.
 
It's pretty gory, Oz. There's a lot of dismemberment. On a scale of Quentin Tarrantino films, I'd say it's about twice as gory as Resorvoir Dogs, although to be fair some of the blood is over-the-top cartoony, kinda like when Johnny Depp exploded into a cone of blood in A Nightmare on Elm Street.
 
here is the thing the gory scenes are more funny then anything else, they are so over the top that they are obsurd so while it is bloody the fact that its so over the top makes it funny instead of gruesome.

Which kinda reminds me of Final Destination 2. At first, so many bloody and nasty things were happening that by the end I was literally one the floor with tears in my eyes. It was disgusting, just morbidly hilarious.

just expect...fountains of blood...like las vegas fountains...its so cool...

lol....slow death by high blood pressure...that's funny...
 
This is one of the best films I've seen in a long time. You do have to be a person that is used to seeing violent films of this nature and can find humor in a bunch of people getting there limbs sliced off. It is brilliantly directed and the anime is awesome (which included the goriest parts of the movie). The soundtrack is amazing. I can't wait until February for volume 2.
