I'm shocked. I just saw a big preview on Fox the whole "KC comes back with all new episodes!" thing and now I hear it's cancelled? THat doesn't make very much sense.

ohh it really does, the figures haven't been that great, and weren't rising. Its competition was HIMYM was it not, and that has been steadily rising in the viewers, and started at a good place.....execs need to invest more time in a series....i mean Cheers for example....the first season was hated, hardly anyone watched and the ratings got worse, but because the top nobs had faith and put more money into it, it became the highest rated comedy series....until Frazier and Friends came along...one of which is a spin off of cheers.....

NOOOOOO!!! NOT KC!!! I LOVE that show!! Bradley Cooper and Nick brendon in one place!! And it was funny! *sob*

Seeriously though, I'm upset. Stupid FOX. They ALWAYS do this to new shows, never give them time to develop.

What a crappy end...
I recently learned they were making new episodes...

Damn, had to be on at the same time as HIMYM..

If it is cancelled, I'm very disappointed. I really liked the show. Maybe because I live in New York I "get" the humor more or something, but I thought it was a really funny show. I definitely watch it over HIMYM.

What FOX needs to do is have a summer season that ends when baseball playoffs start. That way, shows aren't losing all their viewers after only a few eps because of baseball.

Don't know if this is where Slayerpower came across the new of the cancellation but it was posted at Whedonesque yesterday.

Certainly looks as if Kitchen Confidential isn't going to be continued beyond the initial 13 episode order.

Just always good post a source 😉 It wasn't that I didn't believe them 🙂

Yeah, have to agree it makes it easier for keeping the facts straight if you mention your source when posting information. There is way too much speculation and rumour taken as fact here on the net! 😉

i haven't seen this yet...i don't think it's started airing in the UK. but i was REALLY looking forward to watching it! i LOVE nick! i was so happy to see him back on the box.
i don't know if it'll even be shown in the UK now that it's been cancelled. it took MONTHS for Firefly to air over here (almost a year, if memory serves) and they haven't shown the second season eps of Tru Calling either, so KC will probably not get shown either.
i'm really bummed about this.

It's time to start campaigning for DVDs. Wish I knew more how to do it, but I do know it's not likely to happen without some show of interest. I hate Fox.

Paramount Comedy picked it up a while ago, due to air in Januray. Don't know what the sitch is now thought.

Im uber annoyed, as I was looking forward to the show. Ah well, maybe Nick can also join VM, its what everyone is doing.

Not to be all negative but that was announced last July--before Fox pulled the plug. Heck, before KC even began airing here. You're very right not to assume Paramount Comedy's plans for it are set in stone.

I found one site where you can vote for a Kitchen Confidential DVD set:

Kristin at E Online reported on Nov 7 that Fox had ordered three more episodes of KC... http://www.eonline.com/Insider/Boards/ann.jspa?annID=232

But this from Variety:

News was nearly as grim for "Arrested's" Monday night companion, the Darren Star-produced "Kitchen Confidential." It's also been pulled for sweeps, and producers have been told the show won't be getting a full-season pickup.

On the positive tip, ABC has given a full-season pickup to Warner Bros. TV-produced frosh laffer "Freddie." Skein has consistently built on its adults 18-49 lead-in since bowing last month.

As for "Arrested," skein returned from a month's hiatus this week, while "Kitchen" was slated to return Monday. Despite tough competition from a high-rated "Monday Night Football" matchup, "Arrested" performed about as well as it had been in the timeslot before baseball. Ratings for "Prison Break," however, took a notable dip, which is what likely prompted worried Fox execs to reverse their previous plan to keep "Arrested" on the air through year's end.

Instead of the two laffers, Fox will air repeats of drama "Prison Break" in the 8-9 p.m. Monday slot for the rest of the sweep.

"Arrested" and "Kitchen" will return to the skedsked Dec. 5. Come January, net is expected to stick with its original plan of moving "House" into the Monday-at-8 slot.
