Knitting, Embroidery & Crochet...

I am knitting this sweater, Dagny | Multicolor

However, I am not loving the pattren, it isn’t fun and not well written or explained, it is taking forever, and I am cranky that I bought it in the first place.

But since I paid for it, on I go!

I bought this so, by darn, I am going to get my money's worth!
DIY: A while back, I saw this great tee with an embellished neckline. Loved it, but the cut of the tee was terrible when I tried it on, so I thought I'd attempt to make my own. It looked great. Gave it a wash....and all the jewels (bar ONE) fell off. 🤣

I'm making a second attempt with apparently a better quality glue, and trying a different method, rather than sticking the gems on directly.

If this fails, I'm not making a third attempt!

The thread can do that. I'm just finishing the embroidery on my eighth bookmark. I really should make these into actual bookmarks at some point...
 
I want to make a table runner, so I gave in to the call of cotton. Acrylic is no good for that kind of thing, only good for rugs really. I was going to get bamboo cotton and then another type but they didnt have enough, so I went for the clearance cotton and will see how it works up. I made sure they were all the same dye lots but one looks a bit lighter :/
 
Broke out the washi tape and made an anniversary card for a friend this week. Need to focus on the font/writing next time.

Because I was in a rush the word 'Happy' looked a little larger and spaced apart further than 'Anniversary' - which gave the appearance of, 'Oh no, I think I'm about to run of space on the card!' 😂

I got given another crochet kit for Christmas, I haven't ever done any of the others I've been given. This is to make a bag I think.

I did start doing a small cross stitch though, until I tangled the thread up, but I will get back into crafts this year.
 
Could sewing be included in this thread? I was gifted a sewing machine for Christmas and am eager, though slightly intimidated, to learn how to use it. I don't see myself as ever being a master at it, but I'd like to at least be able to mend and darn items and hem, especially vintage items I resell.

As for crochet, my mother and me tried to learn and even joined a group but though she picked it up easily, I just never felt like I had the "knack" for it, so I gave it up. However, that may be because the crochet group would meet at a pub, and we'd end up getting drunk and distracted...lol.

Speaking of my mother, I'm still slowly clearing out her closet of belongings she left at my house. It's hard, but I did find some knitting and crochet supplies...perhaps I should give it another shot in her memory.

Well, I did say "& similar crafts." 😀 So, yeah.

My sewing skills are limited to poorly sewing buttons on. Though I do have access to a sewing machine. I admit to being afraid of sewing myself to whatever I am doing... (That is not really that common, though.)

Crochet is something I never picked up either. Though I wouldn't have got distracted in a pub. 😀

Embroidery is one of the easiest to start, because if you have a kit, you have a pattern to work of without having to do stitch counting otherwise. Knitting does require remembering what you're up to; I keep wanting to learn it again to knit myself some dishcloths.
 
Crochet is one of those things that once you get the hang of it - you've got it. Its tricky to start but once you get it, you get it and it becomes easy. I rekon its easier than knitting, especially if you are stopping and starting a lot. It just uses a lot more yarn than knitting.

I have started making a little pony toy for a neighbour. So far I have 4 legs and thats all.

I started doing waffle stitch tonight cos i think its cute. Its scarf size but if i do a few, maybe a blanket? Or maybe i will just frog it all for a different project cos i know i dont have enough yarn for another blanket.
 
I always thought I could do knitting again once the dogs outgrew being jumpy puppies. The are 4 and have not outgrown jumping on me unexpectedly for kisses. It was lucky I am doing tunisian crochet today or the poodle would have been stabbed through the chest! Flew at me with a toy bluey in her mouth.
 
I keep accidently vacuuming up my stash of yarn next to the couch. Yesterday the blonde dog decided two rolls were her play toy and dragged them all over the house. So now I am just doing a granny square rug to keep the yarn all in one spot instead of in a mess of knots! Its just cheapest acrylic so I can undo it later if I find an actual project for it. Its winter, so another rug wont go astray anyway. I just want something super simple so I dont have to think about it.
