I have noticed that in Season 8, the mysterious saying that other Buffy seasons have had hasn't appeared much.
During The Long Way Home it was shown to be "Twilight is falling" but there wasn't a mention of it in The Chain, and there hasn't been a mention of it so far in No Future For You.

Who else thinks it should be used more and be as mysterious as "From beneath you, it devours" and "Death is your gift"?

I think the weird design thing, I think Xander called it "a guy with a monacle frowning" is the 'mysterious saying' for season 8. Its been seen in most of the issues.

I know but it was only season 5 and 7 that really had them, and in season 5 it only started to get used 3/4 of the way in. I wouldn't call it a buffy trademark or anything.

Hmm...yeah I'm with Keanoite- I think the frowned turned upside down and frowning again is the 'phrase' for the season. It ain't words, but well it's freaky, bad and keeps popping up at random yet significant times so...and I don't think any seasons besides seven and five had like meaningful sayings. Then again, maybe they did and we just didn't click haha.

haha..wouldn't be the first time! but I'm nearly sure there wasn't any catchphrases in the other series.

yeah, I think there were like catchthemes (if that's even a word. I doubt it, but it doesn't worry me, hehe)- like season one was responsibilty and greater good and like, then you had season two being all about the heartache and break of love, season three growing up, season four- the newness that is college....hmm, maybe the phrase for season four was '314' - they said that an awful lot, even after they discovered it was Adam! But then that only started from A New Man. Damn, I'm all conflicted and confused now. and the worst part? I'm confusing *myself*; no one else is doing it! haha. (Sorry if I ramble...tis a bad habit .::ashamed face::.

everyone enjoys a good ramble!! ok maybe 314 applies but once Adam was revealed I don't think it was used too often
