Apparently Lady Gaga's dogwalker was shot and in critical condition and the shooter absconded with her dogs; two French bulldogs. Some people... smh
 
Stealing dogs has become very common now, I quite often see a story locally about how someone has had a dog stolen.

OMG that is shocking. People are desperate, absolutely desperate to do such a thing. All my thoughts with her. Hollywood dog walkers will now be asking for protection.

I just wonder if they are going to try to ransom the dogs or something. Though she is offering half a million dollars for their return, they could borrow a page from Seven Psychopaths playbook and say they found the dogs.

Wonder how much they'll ask - if Gaga is offering half a mil, they can def get 3 mil out of her
 
The news is that Lady Gaga's were taken, not that the walker was shot, give you a sense of how crap society is over there?

Just after reading this last night, I got sent this. Of course the person sending me it hasn't actually met our dogs! They are very much guard dogs, and not small either!
 
Ugh, that's awful! That poor dogwalker!

I've heard that dog theft is up here too, there are stories where people in a van drive up, tackle the owner, then basically just toss the dog in the van and leave. Presumably to sell them? For dog fights? Most dogs here are micro-chipped so if they were to sell them to another person who wanted to take it to the vet it'd be found out pretty quickly.

French bulldogs are generally a very expensive breed though, so if not for black mail, I imagine these would still fetch a decent amount. Not enough to shoot someone for, mind.

Yes, obviously you can get more money if you have the pedigree paperwork, but even without that people are buying dogs and they're not cheap.
When we had our puppies we sold them pretty much immediately after putting them up for sale online, and not locally, one guy drove from Scotland (4/5 hours) to buy one.
I think it's also to do with how it more difficult now to adopt a pet,
 
Lady Gaga's dogs found safe after armed robbery

Lady Gaga's two stolen French bulldogs have been found safe and handed in to police, according to officials.

The two dogs, stolen in an armed robbery, have been "reunited" with the singer's representatives, police said.

Lady Gaga's dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was shot by two men who abducted the dogs in Hollywood, Los Angeles, on Wednesday.

He is in hospital and his family said on Friday that he was expected to make a full recovery.
