Only two weeks (9 episodes) left until this show goes off the air. Then there will be a week of reruns and Jimmy Fallon will be taking over Late Night the week after that.

Haven't watched this show regularly for awhile, but used to watch it all the time. Seeing as the end is near, I'm going to try to catch the remaining episodes (shouldn't be tough seeing as I'm jobless).

i thought he was going to LA, is he taking over Leno or something?

If that was the case I might have to actualy watch again. I don't watch late shows too much anymore, but when I do it is always Dave. Jay just sort of rubs me the wrong way...I think I have some sort of deep rooted car envy of the man. His garage is an awe-inspiring thing of beauty.

I remember the good old days of Conan and Andy and Triumph. I wonder if he would have to tone it down any for Jay's show if he takes over? I kind of feel that is why Jay got the show instead of Dave when Carson left. To be honest though, I don't know.

I'm not even sure he's taking over, though I've heard that rumor too.

Conan's show isn't going to be over, he's just moving up to Leno's time-slot and Jimmy is taking over his. I've had a verging on obssessive love for Jimmy Fallon since SNL so I can't even put into words how freaking excited I am that I get to see Jimmy 5 nights a week! Leno I think is moving to another network at 10pm if I'm not mistaken.

Actually, this deal was put in place to give Conan the Tonight Show back in 2004 and NBC decided recently they didn't want to compete with Leno so he's been given a new talk show even earlier than The Tonight Show but still on NBC.
Whoah...Leno was ousted in favor of Conan and did not just ride off into the sunset like Carson? That suprises me.

I'm guessing mabe that I colored it more with my own opinion of Leno. far more likely, I'd guess, that another network offered him more money and he made the switch initiating network action?

Talk Show Wars....all it needs is sound effects in space, which both Star Wars and Star Trek rightly promote...should happen.

Carson would be Yoda.

Letterman would be Anakin

Leno would be Vader

Conan can be Luke.

Boy these pain killers for my eye injury are real fun!

Late Night is going to be over. Yes, Conan will be taking over the Tonight Show in June but it's still going to be a huge change. The Tonight Show is on earlier and some of Conan's bits are going to be toned down or abandoned altogether on The Tonight Show. Also, because The Tonight Show is filmed in LA, its very likely Max Weinberg will not be joining him (though I guess they are still trying to work out some kind of deal with him).

That confirms a fear of mine in an earlier post then, Conan should not have to change what works for him for an earlier time slot. To quote just about everyone in StarWars "I have a ba.." nevermind, good luck Conan.
So from what little net sources I've bothered to check, Leno is not moving on to another show, but retiring. That makes the whole to do less to do about.

Got it to work, third times a charm. Guess Jay says one thing and 30 million comes along and he means another. Good for him, he has the ability to reason.

Maybe four or five years ago (date my link was posted) his retirement fund wasn't taking such a beating, looks like his wife will have to wait for that diner. Hopefully he didn't invest in that pyramid scheme that took organizations for billions!

So when will Leno's time slot be, 9:00 central time? At 10:00 in my area we have news, then Jay and Dave at 10:30.

If Jay moves to 10 easteren, 9 central, he's going to get stomped, least long term I think so.

I'm sad about this. Conan introduced me to a lot of my favourite bands, and I laughed a lot at some of the weirder humour. I find it hard to imagine that stuff surviving the transition. The end of a weird, funny, musically awesome era. 🙁
