Have you ever noticed that when you pop to the bog at work to spend a penny, some of the people in the cubicles stop the heaving and straining and go deadly silent? Yet some people clearly don't give a monkeys and it sounds like some of them are wrestling a crocodile with all the manly heaving noises and splashing.

Then there's the messy simpletons who manage to splash all over the floor by the urinals. What's all that about? How hard is it to piss into a bowl? I bet they don't piss all over the floor at home, so why do it at work?

Then you have the blokes who do a quick splash & dash without washing their hands. This always throws me as I'm never sure what part of the door handle to pull to avoid penis germs. I usually go for the safer lower area.

I bet the ladies of the BB don't have this problem... count yourselves lucky.

Haha :D
You'd be surprised at how bad ladies rooms can be. I've walked into public bathrooms and saw piles of crap on the floor, poop on the walls, used feminine products lying around NOT in toilets, unknown liquids on the floor... just ewww.

I avoid public restrooms at all costs.

(I know this said 'at work', but I was speaking of public bathrooms in general just because of your last comment.) 😉

No way, from my experience ladies bathrooms are just as bad as mens (if not worse). And yes, I have been in both....I have no problem using the mens room if there is a long line for the ladies room and there are no men around. 😉

ApricotAngel agrees: Do you use a shewee?

A shewee? No, I've never been in a mens room the didn't have a toilet.

I do that too! :D
I've seen quite a few mens rooms in my years working minimum wage jobs where I had to clean public toilets and/or work toilets. I worked in one job at a bakery where the mens toilets where the most revolting thing I've ever seen. I'm not going to get into it, but it was pretty foul.

Then again, when I worked in bars I saw female toilets that had been squirted with poop and urine and vomit. Definitely the sanitary pad thing was happening to. Makes me feel sick just thinking about some of the things I saw.

Etiquette in general though? I don't think I've ever heard a lady making grunting noises while on the toilet... I think women are generally more uncomfortable about poo in general. I don't understand why society insists on giving us the impression that women don't fart or poo, but we do. Sorry to break it to everyone!

Last paragraph karma.

I agree with miromurr, last paragraph karma :D
I think one of the worst things about women's bathrooms is when some idiot doesn't know how to sit on a seat and pee in the hole. Then they don't wipe their pee off the seat. It's like "WTF is wrong with you?!" Speaking from experience, it's really not that hard to sit and pee. The second worst thing being when someone leave their used feminine products lying around in the toilet or not. Or when some idiot thinks it would be funny to put paper towels in all the stalls in one bathroom. That happens at school all the time.

As for the grunting thing... I refuse to do that in public. I refuse to do that when I'm not in my house or where I'm staying.

Our how about when someone leaves their used seat cover on the toilet. I can appreciate (and when I say appreciate I mean make fun of) the fact that you want to put aa thin piece of paper between the seat and your bum. But if you use it, throw it away! I don't want to pick up your used butt paper after you leave, and I definitely don't need you to leave it for me to sit on next. This happens at my work ALL THE TIME.

Ewww. wtf. That's sooo nasty, Lu
My husband is one of those people who absolutely will not do #2 in a public bathroom. He has literally made himself sick before, trying to keep from going in a public stall. LOL

I used to be terrified of public toilets and was always way to self conscious to do a deuce in public. Now, as I've got older I suppose, I'm much more of the 'you know what? Everybody poops!'

A couple of weeks ago we had "the talk" at work about the condition that the ladies was being left in. In general I think the worst thing about the gents at work is that it's poorly ventilated and in summer tends to smell like the elephant house, although I have a couple of colleagues who aren't shy about breaking wind while using a urinal.

The weirdest thing for me is when somebody in another cubicle is on the phone- before now I've been sitting there minding my own business and all of a sudden you hear a voice go "hello". The first time I thought I was cracking up!

Yes! Talking on the phone while in a bathroom stall is weird!
That brings up a question... is it true that guys find it very uncomfortable when people talk in the bathroom? I mean, I've heard it is... but I don't understand... Like I've heard from some of my guy friends it's considered pretty darn rude if you talk to someone in the bathroom...

ApricotAngel agrees: It is, because you've got your dick out. You don't want someone chatting to you while you've both got your dicks out.
But why? I don't get it. I mean us female types have our pants down and we talk... My friends made it seem like it was REALLY really rude and like if you did it you were like awful. I can understand how it's like "ok... that wasn't normal" but to get that annoyed by it? Are my friends exaggerating?

Clean girl bathroom is totally an urban legend! Honestly, I kind of always sneak into boy's bathroom when the girl's bathroom is full and the boy's bathroom is almost empty, and it's always very clean! (But I think guys go to the bathroom less often. Well anyway, at school it's always the same, for two men in the men bathroom, you have ten girls in the girl's). And the boy's bathroom was always clean! And when I was working, I sometimes had to clean the bathroom and it was cleaner at men's (except, sometimes, they can't seem to know what flushing means) than at women's. At women's, I almost had to wear CSI-gloves to not get infected (ewww).

I'm very comfortable at speaking while peeing, and I don't know anybody who actually is embarassed. Sometimes, I even go to the bathroom and recognize a bag or a computer bag and say "Heyyyyy there you are!" and we talk to each other while peeing. Fun times really! I actually *always* talk when I'm in the bathroom. Now that I think about it, it's kind of weird to talk to someone you don't see and who pees in the same time than you do 😀

(Are we really having a conversation about toilets habits? :tongue3🙂

I'm like that too! I'll recognize someone's shoes or a bag and I'm like "HEY! I didn't know you were in the bathroom!!!"
Today I decided to sort out the problem that inspired this thread; that we've recently have some foul stenches coming from the toilet right next to our spanky new reception area. Mostly in jest I sent the following out to the company (I've removed the names to protect the innocent/guilty. Probably also worth noting that even if this was indeed a disciplinary matter I neither have the authority or rank to pull it off):
To:
Subject: Unit 6 Dunny

It has been brought to my attention that several members of staff are using the gents visitors toilet by reception as a ‘drop off point’ for regular bowel movements.

Some of these loads are extremely unpleasant and offensive.

Anyone suspicious seen leaving the area will have a stool sample taken for assessment and if the odour is found to match the offending article then disciplinary action will be taken, as well as a full dietary review to discover what on earth is wrong with you.

Consider this a verbal warning, it’s a borderline sackable offense.

I figured that would be treated with the relative ignorance it deserved but I actually had a reply from the quietest, most unassuming guy in our accounts department. He said he was having some issues relating to his stomach, and as x (x being literally the only vaguely attractive girl in our Offices) sits near the toilets upstairs in accounts he just couldn't bring himself to dump up there. He then apologised and signed off! I considered being the ultimate bastard and forwarding his response to everyone, but very quickly decided that would have been a bit much so have left the matter between us.

Oh god. poor guy!!!!!
The girls bathrooms at my school are really clean, I mean REALLY clean. The worse thing is when peole don't flush or put paper towls in the sinks. Also at my school its a really big thing to write on the stall walls. For a while we had a 'Hot or Not' list of boys names for each grade. But the janitors spray painted over it.....
