Well, I voted Conner after some deliberation. I just finished rewatching the second half of S4, and I must say the more I watch it the more I like it. So dark and complex. I love Faith's mini-arc, I LOVE when she shares Angel's mind, relives his past good deeds....and I admit, I think the Jasmine storyline is just great. It's so bizarre and deliciously disturbing. It's so bizarre when she speaks through people. And gotta love Lilah at the end. "Congratuations. You ended world peace!" 🙂
I almost teared up when Angel killed Conner. It's not often you see Angel cry. I don't like that...Angel crying. It freaks me out.
Anyway.
Conner. I've tried to find a way to like him, or at least see where he's coming from. But a this point, I've desided I can't really relate to his charater...what's his modivation? What does he want? I can't tell. The only scenes, to be honest, I enjoy with him where I'm not gritting my teeth at his arrogance, selfishness, and stupidity, is when he's under Jasmine's thrall (or, pretending to be, I guess) and his little speech he gives to Cordelia in the church, about how he just wants to rest. Reminds me of that scene in Beneath Me with Spike in the church. Interesting that both are talking about "resting" in a church. In fact, I think is a big theme in both shows; just wanting to give up and rest and live "normal" lives.
And of course, I like in Not Fade Away when he comes back to attempt to help Angel defeat Hamilton.
Anyway. I know there are a few who claim Conner as their favorite character and I ask you why. I could see why he'd be interesting if I could only get him.
I like the actor, he plays the part well consitering what he's given...i just...pretty much hate Conner.
