Cordy/Connor- EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Cordy/Groo- I hate Groo!
Dander- It's too awkward for me

I was going to say Coyle but I don't hate them because I don't consider them as couple, I consider them as very good friends who find eachother attractive like some friends.

Awww, how can you hate Groo?!
I'm surprised at all the Cangel hate. I can definitely see how many people could think that they were better off as friends, but all in all Cangel was rather inoffensive. I knew a lot of people didn't like it, but I didn't know so many people disliked it.

As for me, I'm torn between Spuffy and Briley.

Spuffy (IMO) ruined Spike's character, was creepy and disturbing in S6, dull in S7, and in the last two seasons consisted of two people that I previously liked but then hated with a fiery passion. But they had one or two good scenes, and the actors did have some chemistry.

Briley was utterly devoid of anything remotely resembling chemistry, was death-defyingly boring, and contained one character I liked and one character I hate more than anyone else. It was far too normal for my liking, and at times it seemed like Riley was emotionally manipulating Buffy. But I found that I could ignore it easily enough by just zoning out, while Spuffy annnoyed/disgusted me too much to ignore it.

I don't like Bangel either, but I can't bring myself to hate them. It did create some great storylines (the S2 Angelus arc), and their romantic moments are just so lol-worthy. 😀

Oh and Connor/Cordelia too, but that didn't last too long so I can ignore it easily enough.

Willow/Xander was chemistryless, but never annoyed me.

Agree about Spuffy. It ruined Spike. And it made me hate Buffy also.

I'm not a Bangeler but I agree that it did provide some good storylines.

I also agree about Briley. They just didn't have any chemistry and Riley became too clingy.

1. Cangel
2. Connor/Cordy
3. Kennedy/Willow

on Cangel I'll add that I just don't understand why Cordy, Queen C, would ever want to be with Angel that way. I mean after seeing him being (frankly kind of creepy) stalking not one but two blondes obsessively over the years - would you really be - "oh that's the guy I wanna be with."
I think she would have wanted more for herself.

Aww, love you too. *huggles* :D
My biggest problem with Cangel is that don't all the reasons he left Buffy in the first place apply to any other girl? Did the writers just get together and say after season 2; "We need to give Angel a love interest? Who'll it be?"

He did think of those things, especially after Groo came back into the picture. Even when she came back from a higher I don't remember Angel doing much more than pining over her.* He still had feelings for Cordelia, but he's allowed to... much like Buffy was allowed to have feelings for Riley, Spike, and Satsu.

*The fantasy sex when the shaman made him lose his soul doesn't count. Also I could be remembering the season wrong as it's really late and I should be asleep so please feel free to refresh my memory.

It's been a little bit since I watched Angel, I know they never really get together but I do remember them going to meet each other to discuss their feelings and then Cordy never makes it there. Would Angel have said 'this can't work' if they hadn't been interrupted?

Also, Buffy was free to pursue relationships, at least according to the writers, still being able to have sex and walk in daylight, etc.

Spuffy...it grossed me out, it made me also feel depressed while watching s6. Plus both characters of that ship disappointed me.

Connelia...I know she was possessed. But it seems so wrong!!!

Killow...so soon, so forced. And Kennedy gets on my nerves. Will also gets on my nerves in s6 and s7 so...

I don't hate Cangel but I have expressed my opinion on the matter many times. The way things were forced between them was annoying. I felt that the writers needed to get someone for Angel, like right now, in s3 and they chose the person he shared a wonderful friendship with. In theory it could work. For me, it doesn't work with these two people.

Vengance - Cordy and Angel could still have gotten together, just not have had sex. I think that Angel would probably have been anxious, and would probably say that it could never work. Cordy would have told him he was being an idiot, and snogged him. 😉

Princess Buffy - Cangel did not only come about in S3. There are hints throughout S2 and at the end of season 2 it is blatantly obvious that he does have feelings for her (the "I love him"/"You love me?" bit in the Pylea arc).

Not to be rude, but shippers of love-at-first-sight Bangel accusing Cangel of happening abruptly makes me LOL.

Well I'm not a shipper of love-at-first-sight Bangel so I guess that rules me out. Whether that comment is rude or not is not really the point. You're lumping every single Bangel fan into one category and deciding for yourself what it is they think or believe. That's the only problem I have with a comment like that because everyone feels differently about things and its not fair to assume 🙂

As for 'ships I don't like:

Spuffy: I know, shocker, right? 😛 It's starting point and its development pretty much go against everything I stand for. I get no pleasure out of watching something so base.

Cangel: The only issue I have with this ship is that the writers could have done wonderful things with this friendship but they chose to cave and take the easy way out. In that way I think it was sudden. The 'hints' that occurred in the earlier seasons, as TheVoid suggests, can be interpreted in all sorts of ways, they were not romantic hints to all of us. They were building an incredible and beautiful friendship and then it collapsed.

There are others that I either don't care for or never became invested in but these are the only two I find it uncomfortable to watch.

Well, obviously Connor and Cordy... there was the ick-factor.

uhhhh... Willow and Kennedy.

And that's about it.

I wasn't lumping all Bangel fans together. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of those that do think such a thing.

I agree that the hints early on are very subjective and open to interpretation, but there were also moments in S2 that were "anvil-sized" indications that Angel had feelings for Cordelia (ie. the scene I pointed out).

I don't think that Pylea scene is a 'hint'.

I think he was just flattered, I guess I could say, that she 'loved' him.

Angel was completely wigging since he had just got his best friend back after he had treated her horribly and then he lost her again. So I saw that 'You love me?' thing as him simply being flattered by the idea, lol.

That's what I'd call a radical interpretation of the text.

I enjoyed Cangel, but it struck me as surprise more than anything else. He was around for about 350 years at that point, and even as a human no one seemed to love him except for his sister who Angelus ate. Then there was Buffy who loved him and killed him.

With that track record, why wouldn't he be surprised at someone saying they loved him? That's a radical interpretation? Seriously? Even after she'd spent the better part of the year not speaking to him? Really?

I can't see her forcing the issue. She would understand, or at least I hope she would. If Angel started snogging other girls it would kind of make him leaving Buffy seem totally pointless.

Wow, I'm surprised not alot of people said Spuffy, because that's one of most hated ships on here.

In response to the Cangel fling, I don't hate them at all I actually like them, but I don't ship them because I think Cordy should be with Xander and I think Angel should be with Darla. But I don't think Cangel is forced and I don't think Cordelia's a substitute for Buffy, but I just like Bangel more!

Angel is not just surprised. He's surprised/pleased at first, then he's disappointed when she clarifies that she means Groo, then he tries to fish for a compliment - classic crush behaviour.

It's all about writer intentions. You could interpret that scene differently, but it's clear that the writers are going for a Angel/Cordelia crush angle. Especially when you put ity in the context of a crush becoming even more clear in early S3. Writer intentions are everything, and their intentions are blatantly evident, especially in retrospect.

I can't see her forcing the issue. She would understand, or at least I hope she would. If Angel started snogging other girls it would kind of make him leaving Buffy seem totally pointless.

So Angel's not allowed to like girls who aren't Buffy?

For me i find it more strange with Angel moving onto someone else then Buffy. He lived for so long and only ever loved one Woman that for me makes it harder for him to move on.

You know, they probably could have. Sex doesn't always equal perfect happiness for Angel and his losing his soul. Wesley had it pegged. "99.999-ad infinitum percent of the best relationships in the recorded history of the world have had to make do with acceptable happiness." Cordelia didn't seem like she would have been offended (like Darla) if it wasn't perfect happiness, especially with what would have come after. I know I wouldn't be in the same scenario. Maybe I'm just projecting. 🙂

Connelia - been covered above by many others
Briley - I was so relieved when Riley was gone
Cander - The kiss in You're Welcome was nice, but otherwise they had no chemistry
Coyle - felt artificial
