Whatever you want to call them the system of getting things like this ticks me off lol

Ok i go to visit my mom in delaware on march 9th... i am going by plane but i need an ID well i went to go try for my permit (see in fl i'm not allowed to get it till i'm 18 but alabma is different) anyways when i got there they said i needed 2 forms of identification.. well i had my birthcertificate and i'd need like my social secruiety card which i had but lost so they told me to go to the s.s place down town and get a copy so we go all the way across town and then get there they say they need something other then my birth certificate to give me my s.s card even though i know the number (they need to know its really me and my birth certificate only shows that i was born not that i'm still alive) they request that i have either

- A marriage or divorce liscence
-Change of name thing
- Recent school records ( I aint been to school in over like 2 years possibley 3)
-Recent Doctor or hospital records not a reciept(Cant get a hold of no one for those)
-Religious records(never even been baptized)
-Military ID
or a Regular ID WHICH I"M TRYING TO GET!!

(and other crack stuff that i dont have)

Its like stupid that in order to get a permit or ID you need a s.s card.. and in order to get that you gotta have ID and in order to get a job you gotta have both but yet you need money to get both lol....

I think the system is screwy! :madtongue

I hear ya, it's screwy to the extreme!
I hear you, I am considered a 'non-person' because I don't have a driving license or passport. Try opening a bank account these days without either of those things and you are screwed, well at least you are in my town! No other form of ID is acceptable it seems. I'll be damned if I am getting a passport or license just to be told that I exist. Even my birth certificate and marriage certificate isn't acceptable unless I have the passport or driving license that is. Good job my husband has a bank account, all my money gets paid into his account - I can't even be added as a joint account holder with him! 'lol'

I understand all this need for checking ID etc but sometimes it can be very difficult and frustrating.

Well. We weren't even allowed to eat food at a pub without passports. We weren't going to drink alcohol, and we all had ID, just didn't exactly bring our passports.. so we weren't allowed at the pub, I thought that was really strange...

AB101 - do they not accept a bank statement thats been sent to your house or a bill or some such?

Eps - the recent alcohol laws are madness. if you look under 21 you need ID to be in a pub after 8pm. they like passing vague laws lately. worrying indeed.

I dont have any bank statements nor bills in my name lol so i'm screwed on those aspects and i doubt it due to the fact it isn't legal proof that i am who i am lol

lol hey aint is actually in the dictionary so ya 😛... its from being stuck in alabama for so long everyone says aint, and y'all down here and it gets catchy... just call me a redneck yankee lol
