I just watched the episode Lie To Me and I realized that this was the first moment in Buffy I really started to like Spike. I have seen this episode many times before but I never really cared about Ford in the end and I was already aware that he had been turned and (...)

This is definitely the earliest moment in the series when I can say I started to trust in Spike and realize he is a loyal, trustworthy guy and that he's really not evil, not as evil as he pretends to be anyways.

Also, Spike didn't give Ford 'what he wanted' - Ford wouldn't be Ford anymore once he became a vampire.

Excactly. I saw Spike turning Ford more like a spiteful action than a loyal one. I think i found Ford bloody pathetic, and turned him for a laugh.

*cough cough* different network... different shows... not that much to 'read into'*end cough*

I'm not sure that that's really a valid excuse. Characters from Buffy's show had crossed over onto Angel's show, primarily Willow, for brief guest shots. Granted, she wasn't the title character from her own show, but still, if Joss had really wanted to show Angel helping out in Sunnydale, I think that arrangements could have been made, or a simple comment by someone about him stopping by to check on the gang before heading for the Himalayas. Once again, just what was revealed by my Spuffy colored glasses. They sometimes seem to see past a lot of Bangel rationalizing.

(And, by the way, I've got some GREAT cough syrup for that cough of yours. One swig of this stuff, and you wouldn't care if Buffy started dating Andrew, let alone what network Angel's show was on)
