I LOVE this episode. I love seeing the character of Nikki Wood explored and Spike's relationship with his mom. Don't you just love Dru's reaction when he's all like "You, me, and Mum"?? LOL
 
Oh my gosh, this is one of my favorite episodes! Yeah, I love that line. Dru's reaction and then how Spike just continues on oblivious to her, lol.

I love flashbacks with any of the fanged four, but I especially love it when it's a Spike flashback. The thought of the biggest bad blondie bear once being the biggest momma's boy in the world just muses me.

And I loved the fight between Robin and Spike. I'm glad Spike didn't finish Robin, even though I don't like him all that much. Better have Buffy coming in and say that if there was a next time, she wouldn't stop Spike in killing Robin. Because he would have earned it.

Buffy is supporting Spike decision for the firts time. It's more than trust
It is one of my favorite episode. I like the flasbacks and in the sceen between Nikki and Spike in Subway. He is looking very sexy with those clothes and punk style =p, isn't it?

And the last scene, the quote of Buffy to the Giles: I think you taught me everything i need to know.

At least Buffy! You should have told these years ago girl!:lmao:

aww, don't be so harsh on Giles! While I agree he deserves it after the happenings of this ep, I don't see why she should have done it "years ago", at all. 🙁

I love this episode , Spike was cool , when he brayed Robbin 🙂! also I like Spike's storyline in season 7 , when the first is controlling him , to kill buffy.

Me either... I love Giles. When I first saw this ep, I was staring at the screen with my jaw dropped at the end. WOW. Never thought I'd see the day Buffy got that mad at Giles...
 
It was kind of sad, the way that Giles conspired with Wood behind Buffy's back, Complete betrayal, no matter what their motives might have been, and ironic, considering the fact that the very person who they would have killed wound up being pivotal in winning the battle. I especially liked it when Buffy told Wood basically the same thing that his mother did all those years before: "It's the mission that counts."

He was so angry all over the season 7 because of Spuffy thing. Thats why =P.
Anyway i love Giles, he wasnt just a watcher he was a 'real' dad for Buffy.

I can actually see wrong and right on all sides. Wood and Giles going behind Buffy's back was actually dangerous and Wood going after Spike the way he did was always going to fail.

However Giles may have a point about Buffy's feelings clouding her judgment. Yes, Spike was the strongest warrior bar Buffy but he was also a risk with the trigger inside him. She should have pushed him harder.

I also think Spike words regarding Nikki were unfair. He has no right to judge her as Slayer or a Mother. His words to Wood were not some great Spike truth revelation, it was a rationalisation to make him feel better about the past. I personally don't feel any one of the players came out well in that ep.

I completely agree about everything you said. VERY good points here....
 
This is one of my Top Five Favorite Buffy Eppys EVER. Anytime we get to see a flashback is good (to me) - I like the insight about what the person was like before becoming a vampire. Spike was so multi-layered - from William, to William the Bloody, to Spike the vampire, to Spike with a chip, to Spike with a soul - he was the most fun to watch (IMHO). But that particular eppy, with Spike FINALLY getting his balls back, and as he told Wood "you helped me realize something..."- Spike finally understood just what his soul had given him: his humanity (so to speak). He didn't kill Wood - he could have, but he didn't. "I gave him a pass; let him live - on the count of I killed his mum".

Buffy seeing that even Giles could betray her, and Wood getting his beautiful ass kicked (he is SO yummy!) - OMG, it was just an awesome eppy.

Giles was scared because the First had said that it has plans for Spike in the future. Giles was actually the only one who thought and worked seriously on getting rid of Spike's trigger, and all he asked Buffy was keeping him chained until they'd find a cure, so when the First decided to use him, they'll be aware of that. Buffy, however, refused, obviously clouded by her feelings for Spike, and Giles must have feared that when the First controlled Spike again, they'll lose so many lives because of Buffy's recklessness. So, he's reluctantly agreed to kill him.

I don't think he wanted Spike dead because of Spuffy/Spike himself. He was just scared about the trigger.

I think we're used to have a character that dislikes Spike. It used to be Xander, but he changed in S7 and came to accept Spike as one of them. So, when Giles showed objection about having Spike walking freely with that trigger, everybody assumed it relates to him not liking Spuffy... when a year ago he'd laughed at the news of Buffy sleeping with Spike. So, it doesn't make sense.

I just don't see Giles being so petty like that. He'd always been the guy who looked at the big picture... not at the children's weird romances.

Yes, he did looked at the big picture killing Ben because Buffy wouldn't do that. Angel also is the type looking at the big picture killing Drogyn and Lesley. That doesn't make it right.

I didn't say it was right, I was just replying that Giles didn't betray Buffy because he's anti-Spuffy.

I'm actually on Giles' side when he killed Ben, it was awful, but needed to kill Glory.
