Do you have any big goals or bucket list things that you want to achieve? Have you already done any?
I'm sure marriage and children are ones that some people have already done, but what else have you done?

Weight loss. That's my big numero uno, top of the list. Especially as I've gained a little bit more this year, for the first time in a decade.

I don't really have my future planned to be honest. I'm just not really interested in dating right now. Tried it and it's just tiring. Maybe next time.

As for career-wise, I think after several years of trying to get into the film industry, I think I'll be satisfied with just some minor role as a scriptwriter for some small video production company, or even just video editing. I think my days of ambition are pretty much behind me.

It's sometimes hard to talk about these stuff though because they can be very personal, and it tends to lead to people judging. Like for example, my "goals" are pretty trivial and frivolous, nothing as meaningful as improving my health, but rather, I'm a pretty carefree guy who lacks that kind of serious commitment towards life accomplishments. Probably not the best way to live, but I think I'm fine with where I am right now, just carefree and at ease.

I'd love for someone to look into men and women not wanting to date (fun or serious) but do so because they feel obliged or someone else is making them (or free food). I bet the numbers would be so high that it would shock the world, maybe even me.
Yes, I do 🙂

Complete my master's degree.
Get my driver's license.
Get certified as a yoga instructor.
Move to a bigger place.
Volunteer more.
Get a dog again when the time is right <3

(Bonus: if I find the time, go back in time and marry Colin Firth ca. 1995 😛 I may or may not be watching Pride & Prejudice again. I have a problem)

hoping to get masters nest too!
I plan to visit a few places in Sweden and Scotland (and likely Ireland, my partner says she'd love to see the first real St. Patrick's Parade in Dublin once things go back to normal because it will be the biggest this century), which has to do with an ancestry thing (not that I intend to track people down). One solid plan is to walk the entire Rob Roy Way which looks beautiful for walking and camping (my partner like that idea as well).

If I was obscenely wealthy, I'd travel the world, including Antarctica. But I've pretty much limited it to the above as hard but realistic.

I want to finish my main story, but not only am I slowed down by constant revisions I (and beta readers) come up with, but the power outages are becoming a pain (and there was months of dysfunction with one client, gods how I miss her mother as she could be dealt with, and then had to struggle to find more clients, this time not putting my eggs into one basket on that front, which I've finally stabilized, it's just now to see which of those businesses can manage to get through the pandemic, but if they all do they, and I, will be doing better off than before--but all this maneuvering also made it difficult to work on anything as I had to take constant calls and orders, or find out why I wasn't getting them, and I just can't work on my story unless I can focus my entire attention on it). I'm giving serious thought to working off my laptop (which I hate) and using a thumb drive to transfer it after (that way a power outage won't demoralize me).

I used to have a dream of getting a small piece of land in the Pacific northwest where more than one cob home could be made. I was going to make it a retirement community so people could have the option of living their last days in peace. It would generate its own electricity by selling power back to the companies that would hopefully cover the taxes (once the initial payments were paid off, but the only real expenses is getting the deed to the land as well as setting up geothermal, wind, and/or solar). Having a garden, chickens, and a couple of goats was part of it, as was being near a fishing spot (and where water could be purified). I mainly wanted my grandmother to live there, but she's dead now. I might still do it for myself and 2 close friends (and maybe my partner, if it lasts that long and she's interested).

When I was younger, I thought it might inspire others seeing there were better options (cheaper, better, and less harmful to the environment) than the ones being pushed on us that so many hate and yet pursue because they don't see what else they can do. And then I learned such "alternative communities" are almost a dime a dozen and yet I haven't heard of them (until I got the directory, which doesn't include all of them as I've been on some who'd never register themselves) so without a marketing campaign that costs more than I'll ever have (and also finding a way to make it convenient, all the while either playing dirty politics or otherwise avoiding the dirty tricks of those threatened by such a campaign), that will never happen.

I'm not up for sharing what I've already one (but it's significant), and there's another I feel uncomfortable in sharing and I've recently come to accept I have very little power in actually making happen anyway.

Organize my vast collection of antique radios, tuners and test equipment.
Get all of my vast collection into working order.
Organize the garage into more useful space.
Get my novel into shape for publishing.

The trips that you have planned are probably going to be quite expensive, as you're going to have to do a good deal of flying and Dublin and Sweden are really expensive places to vacation. You can do a lot of travelling on a very small budget. There are a lot of travel blogs that lay out how you can get around cheaply, if not always comfortably.

Like, if you were going to Antarctica, which is presum is quite the undertaking, you could probably easily get someone to sponsor you for clothes, equipment and food, as long as you wrote a blog about your travels or something.

While in the Navy, I sailed on every section of ocean except one, and that's the North Pacific/Arctic. I would like to take my wife there on a cruise, once this Covid crap is finally put to bed.

A few I forgot:

Adopt a couple of Siamese kittens
Go back to Glasgow for a visit
Learn Russian and Japanese
Buy a house far away from other people

Get back into writing TV scripts, film scripts are so tedious at present, a two hour film is better fun to do.
Get back into the old ways of religions ; pre Jesus.
Increase my healing capacity.

No. Goals...the very concept of a goal...is anathema to me. I mean, I've done things...and I, suppose, achieved, things but more by accident than design. When they have been by design, it's because I didn't like the alternative. I hate the idea that I have to do something...or be somewhere. It looms.

So would you say it is kind of a goal to not have a specific goal looming above you? :P
Mine are mostly boring Mumsie ones.
See Abbs grow up and be happy.
Be able to support her through Uni and beyond. (Yes she wants to go...at the moment).

Personally I'd love to go to another convention and possibly a Comicon with Abbs and a friend that wants to go.
To be thin again would be nice!
To win the lottery big time!
To survive Covid with my family and friends alive and healthy!

What? And no objective to win a lifetime supply of Baileys.
I would also like to learn more languages. Languages are fun!
And travel-wise the Transsiberian Railway has always intrigued me, so has Alaska and hiking in Colorado. 🙂

Alaska is overrated, but the Dempster Highway is supercool. Can't comment on hiking in Colorado as I didn't actually go hiking, just walking.

Why is Alaska overrated? Walking in Colorado sounds lovely too.
The Dempster Highway looks kind of dull. Pretty scenery, but dull road in itself. I thought you were a dragon excursion, kinda guy, or what was that dangerous road called?

My only goal right now is not to be stuck in a third lockdown.

There are other life goals such as getting a degree and finding Mr.Right, but those are on the backburner right now...

Why is Alaska overrated?
It just felt too "normal" went to Anchorage and Fairbanks. I dunno. About the only thing that seemed "cool" about it was seeing the occasional bears. Did go halibut fishing and thats when I swore off cod forever.

The Dempster Highway looks kind of dull.
Ha. There are parts of the road where you are like inches from the side of the mountain. It came be really harrowing. And then when you get to (I forget the name of the town) it's really surreal because all of the plumbing and sewer system is above ground.

I thought you were a dragon excursion, kinda guy, or what was that dangerous road called?
Tail of the Dragon.
