When I watched BTVS I cheered when Angel killed Darla. I just started watching Angel. I started on season 2 and now have ended season 3 (they are all I have bought so far).
Now, haveing watched Angel and seeing so much of Darla and knowing so much of her back story I feel genially bad for her. She went through so much! Then when she finally resided to being human, even decided that dieing was her destiny, then she was turned back into a vampire against her will! That poor woman went through far to much.
I honestly now love Daral and I feel so bad for her death. I wish there was a way to bring er back once more. This time good and helthy and for good!

I agree. 🙂

I wasn't crazy about Darla on BtVS but I loved her character on Angel. She was an awesome villain and I really enjoyed seeing her flashbacks with Angelus, William the Bloody and Drusilla.

When she ended up killing herself so that Connor could live, I felt so sad and heartbroken for her and Angel. I would have liked to see more of Darla.

Darla was awesome in Angel. I liked her pregnancy arc better than the rest of it... but all of it was really great. One of my favorite characters on Angel by far.

I'm with you all the way. On BtVS she was alright; nothing really more than a "Villian of the Week". On "Angel", we got to see her character fleshed out and it was awesome. I wish we'd gotten to see much more of her on the show.

Well on Buffy we basically didn't know anything about her. There was no character depths at all.
On Angel, we first saw her history, the circumstances that made her a vampire (how it was her one chance to get around death), it just made her more real, sort of. And even more powerful was the remorse she started to feel after a while, and all the tragedy surrounding her character. These are powerful tools to create sympathy.

I'm a big Darla fan. I loved her arc in season 2 of Angel, because we got see her life story and more of her personality. It was sad when she died, but at least we got see her ghost in season 4 and other flashbacks of her later on. And it would be cool if she got ressurected again, because she made the show more interesting.

AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOUR BANNER! CHER IS A GODDESS!!!! and that picture is from when she was on the cover of Vanity Fair in December. I have that magazine framed in my house. I am looking at it now
I love Darla, a lot! I wish, she would have stayed human on 'Angel'. I would have liked to see if Angel could save her. Maybe they would be happy with each other or at least he would have taken care of her, and she could've become a part of his team. But... damn you, WR&H!!! 🙁

Agreed. It would have been cool to see her transition into normal life and society after being evil and dead. Interesting to compare it to angels journey from evil to hero as we only see the beggining parts of him recieving his soul in flashbacks and because he was still a vampire instead of human. Or mayb she would have still been evil - which couldve had potential too.

The Darla arc was one of the great success stories from"Angel." Very well done. We should have seen more of her back story in Season 1 Buffy before she got killed, it would have made her character and her death a little more meaningful.
