Question Likes vs Reputation vs Points

It has been awhile since I have been on here and I'm trying to wrap my head around the new system for likes, reputation and points. Obviously I already know the basics, but can someone give me a run down on the new system? I have looked around for the answer but I have given up looking and trying to figure it out for myself.

I just go with the flow and assume they are not things for us petty mortals to know. 😀

Karma is still the same, the new board however has a like system the same as facebook really. The points are just for things like doing 100 posts, explained here

There are some components of it that I don't understand myself, but I've never asked because I don't think it matters. I do like how it's more specific and substantial than the system at BuffyForums though. Over there you can just give 'Thanks' for a post which is basically the same as favoriting on Twitter.
