i dont think he loved her while he was with her, i think he eventually could have, and probably did by the time she died considering his reaction to her death

I dont think so i think he still loved fred but he was infatuated (I know thats spelled wrong but i'm sure you get it)With lilah 🙂 or at least thats my opinion

Yes, I refuse to believe they didn't love each other. It wasn't soulmate love, it was more like Spuffy-love.

no. I think he was in love with the *idea* of her he created in his head after she died

I think that Wesley is infatuated (you got it right) with Fred not Lilah. When he was with Lilah and she dressed up like Fred to taunt him and I think to get him to tell her that she was the woman he prefered, Wesley told her to "leave the glasses on." That is sick. He was fantasizing about screwing Fred while having sex with Lilah. Wesley thinks that he is evil on some level and definitely has dark depths. He has a cruel and authoritarian streak and I would argue is a darker character than Lilah who joined W&H in order to survive and then became a servant of evil. I personally adore Lilah and am still angry about her death. It would be seriously cool if Wesley could bring her back. Being killed by a power that was can't possibly qualify as natural. I think that Wesley really loved her. He identified with Lilah. To Wesley, Fred is the unattainable sex object; Lilah is a real person like himself who does bad things because she has to. In season four Wesley thought that he was evil, but he still longed for the past. If he admitted that he was in love with Lilah he would have to admit how similar he is to her. His reaction after her death and the fact that he tried to free her from her contract support this. Speaking of freeing her from her contract, after Wesley lost his memory of Connor he quit trying to free Lilah. Is it just me or do you think that Wesley at that point would have used any means necessary to release her from W&H. Maybe the W&H memory spell also works to subdue Wesley's instincts to do things that would damage the company? Anyway, back to the topic. Wesley loved Lilah. He is obsessed with Fred.

I have to agree with Hitome, Wes was obsessed with Fred. Wes and Lilah weren't ever going to be a happily ever after couple, but he did love her. I have been wondering what he remembers about Lilah after the mindwipe. Hopefully, that would be resolved sometime soon.

I really don't think he loved her. He cared about, you might say, but no loved. Now, he LOVED Fred, but I don't think he loved Lilah. I really want to forget that ever happened, really. I hated them together.
