Why did the Beast failed to kill Lilah, and why did Jasmine/Cordy bother to finish the job? Was Lilah an important factor to Jasmine?
 
I never really thought abot it...and I really have no idea. But maybe she wasn't so much an important factor, just more that Evil Cordy wanted to kill her to keep the others occupied for a while. But that doesn't explain why the Beast failed to kill her in the first place...
 
It seemed like Angelus killed Lilah, which meant the gang were then preoccupied with Angelus and his so called murdering. The only other person in the hotel was Cordy so if the gang hadn't seen Angelus drinking from her they may have gotten suspicous. Jasmine was just trying to make sure nobody realised Cordy was evil.

I suspect the Beast didn't kill her is because Jasmine either planned to do so later or this would create more tension between Wes and the gang.

Didn't really matter too much anyway because she got to come back in Home to finish her business. :frog:

I would certainly like to know why ME didn't bother to explain this.
 
Cuz they like to drive us crazy and make discussion boards where we debate these sorts of holes in their plotlines 😉

Well which would be more interesting to see; a character which we've known and loved because we hate for four years which has such a rich history with all the characters that it makes it more interesting to watch, or a complete stranger so they don't have to explain "plot holes". W&H decided to bring Lilah in the mix because only she could toy Angel into making the decision, she could make Wes do it as well. There's two of them.

Want to know what happens when they introduce a stranger instead? Eve.
 
I think that Cordy was afraid someone who had ties to another supernatural evil (like W&H) might figure out she was up to no good. Unlike the others, she didn't have any reason to think of Cordy as a friend and would have been more likely to see through her.

Which makes sense as they sent the Beast to obliterate W&H.

It was simple to me. The Beast was looking for those totems. He thought Lilah had one since she was in charge. But when he stabbed her he realized she wasn't the one he was looking for (the little girl). Then didn't Connor show up? So he got distracted. But the beast didn't finish her off because she didn't matter one way or the other. She was pointless to his goal, which was finding the totems to block out the sun. And Cordelia/Jasmine finished her off to make the gang concentrate on stopping Angelus and not realize something was up with Cordelia. Also it probably didn't hurt that Cordelia didn't really like Lilah.

But that doesn't explain why he had killed the other W&H employees - Gavin Park, included. Why did the Beast killed them and not Lilah?
 
hmm well maybe because at the time they didn't want Lilah killed so as per usual there not quite sure themselves why they didn't kill her

I really do not have a good theory for this, but I have a few ideas. I think that the beast was eliminating W&H because it could challenge Jasmine. So why leave Lilah alive? I don't think she counted as W&H. She had been sleeping with Wesley and was more than willing to double-cross the firm. The Beast is problematic, because it was clearly evil and Jasmine does not like evil creatures. That means that everything the Beast did was not an end in itself, but meerly a way to maneuver everyone in Angel's group so that Jasmine could be born and survive. If Lilah died at W&H Wesley would have wanted revenge against the Beast. I don't think Possessed Cordy was planning to kill Lilah just that killing her was convenient because it kept Angelus who was crucial in her plan from comming after her and realizing what she was. I think killing Lilah was primarily a distraction for Angelus. It also didn't hurt since Lilah still had her connections and could have possibly caused trouble.
