Limiting new posts?

Is it possible to limit the New Posts function to certain forums? For example, I haven't seen all of Buffy so I'd like to filter out the seasons that I haven't watched.

I tried creating a search that has those forums blocked but it doesn't accept just * as a search word. 🙁 Any other solutions?

If you click on a forum that you DON'T want to see in the new posts, and use the little button at the top right hand side that says "forum tools" you can mark the forum as read, and it won't show up when you search for new posts. Hope that helps!

It's even easier than that. Before each forum name on the homepage, there is a square icon. It will be different depending on your skin. If you double click that, it marks all posts in that forum as read.

Ooh, thanks for the tips. I assume I'd have to do that every time I visit the boards though, so it's quite a bit of work. 🙁

Somebody got a little click happy with the new trick, didn't they? :silly: Sorry. You can't. You can still check out the first few threads in the forums though. If you mean more permenantly, it only lasts till a new post is made. It only marks pre-existing posts, not all posts that will be made in the forum.

It's only a few clicks, but, yes, it is a bit inconvenient. There isn't a way around it though, as far as I'm aware.

Or you could just bypass the new posts button all together and only look in the forums you want to look in the other slower way. The old threads have good reading too.

Personally, I would not come on here until you've seen the whole show...even until you've seen all of Angel as well. Even if that filter thing did work, someone is bound to cross-reference something and give you nasty spoiler.

Man. Nothing I hate more than spoilers. They make me ill.

I hadn't finished Angel when I started chatting on here...and I found out someone died before it happened and I was really bummed out.

After all, you can only watch the show for the first time once 🙂

I agree. With years after the show finishing that we are bound to discuss every aspect.

Airam agrees: I agree, as much as we might try, with shows that have off the air as much as these shows have, its difficult to refrain from cross referencing in discussion. Sorry things were spoiled for you. 🙂

I disagree. I don't 'try' to not discuss/cross reference. If the shows premiered yesterday then I would probably try and at least 'spoiler' but damn, these shows finished years ago. Unless someone specifically opens a thread and asks that spoliers aren't dropped in that thread (and only that thread) I would refrain, but the rest of the board is fair game.

My suggestion Friendly Lurker, watch the shows as soon as possible then there won't be any issue.

IF you can't stay away until then, well stay away from the specific season forums that you haven't seen and any threads starting with what sound like spoilers.

You can also use the subscribe feature to get at just the certain forums you want. 🙂
