Remember this scene in Offspring(season 2)?

"GUNN: So, how are you doing there, Fred?

FRED: Oh, it's a simple equation, really. The ancient Roman calendar has fourteen hundred and sixty-four days in a four-year cycle. The Etruscan, Sumerian, and Druidian each have their own cycles. You work forward from the presumed day of the prophecy under each calendar, factoring in our own three hundred and sixty-five day calendar and accounting for a three day discrepancy for every four years and... Oh. - That can't be right. - Unless the world ended last March."

Could it be that Fred was right in her calculations and she meant the events in The Gift?

I don't think so, because "The Gift" aired in May, I believe.... IMDB lists it's original airdate as May 22, 2001.

Of course, there are many jokes on Buffy to the effect that near-apocalypse events are common, and naturally there are probably some of them that are prevented without Buffy's help.

Oddly enough, March 2001 was a reruns-only month for Buffy; The Body's original airdate was in February, and Forever wasn't until April. But for in-show chronology, Forever happens only a few days after The Body, so you can't take airdates as a perfect indicator of when events happen. In fact, all the rest of the events of Season Five seem to come fairly quickly after Joyce's death. So if we assume that events of The Body take place on its airdate (or even the airdate of I Was Made To Love You, since the beginning of The Body is the same in-world instant as the end of IWMTLY), then Joyce died in February and all the events from Forever to The Gift could have happened in a less-than-two-month period, so that The Gift does happen in March. (Incidentally, Buffy's gravestone has no effect on such speculations, since it says only that her date of death was in 2001, with no month or exact date.)

Another fan at another forum pointed out that Darla & Angel "made" Connor in March-ish. So it was a part of the Tri-Clon.

Thing is, I vaugley recall figuring this out months, maybe years, ago. So I forgot.

Would have been more fun if they had meant the Gift.

...pretty sure offspring is a season 3 episode, especially since Fred wasn't around until the third last episode of season 2, and while she was in season 2, they were in Pylea.
