This is just a reminder that when putting a banner into your signature, please DO NOT LINK TO ATTACHMENTS on these boards.

It uses up our server space/bandwidth.

Please save the image and upload it somewhere else first and link to it from there. You can use www.sigup.com for this, or any other free site that allows linking, but please remember to follow their Terms and Conditions.

If we find anyone that has a banner in their signature, which is linked to an attachment on these boards, then we will delete it.

Thank you.🙂

As you can see, from my original post quoted above it was regarding members linking to attachments on the boards, not attachments themselves. 😉

We don't mind members using the attachment facility, within reason, what we do object to is people attaching things like banners etc then linking to them in their sigs or on other posting boards etc. That is not what the attachment facility is for.

Like my previous post said, we do allow members to attach pictures within reason, ie as long as they are not excessively large - in otherwords any images that will create a scrollbar along the top or bottom of an 800x600 screen, or you do not attach multiple pics in one thread as that would be considered as spamming. Some members abuse the facility, hence the reason we prefer members, where they can, to link to images.

The pic you initially posted was very large, and at the time alot of members were absuing the attachment facility and attaching pictures unneccesarily.

People with slower connections also have problems with the page loading time when very large images are attached too, and in that case even someone linking to an image would be told to post a link to it rather than link directly to avoid creating problems for other members.

As it says in our Code of Conduct:-

15. Excessive posting of pictures as attachments is considered spamming, and also uses up server space and bandwith. If you are going to be attaching multiple pictures, please upload them elsewhere first

Please see our Code of Conduct for further rules.

I hope this clarifies things for you.🙂

i used 2 use myimgs.com for my signature, but then it didnt work unless i upgraded, sigup.com you have to pay, on village photos it doesnt show the image, sp does any1 know naypther free image hosters.
thanks, 🙂

Everytime I try to post the link with [*IMG][/IMG] it says you have one or more URLs and please delete them before posting your messege how can I post my banners without that messege coming up?
I had this problem so I just attached it.

This normally happens if you have under 15 posts, you must have over 15 posts before you can post links - I see that you just have 16 posts now so that may have been the reason before why you couldn't post a link.

Try again and let me know if you are still having the same problem.🙂
