Little things you would have kept in Buffy's opening credits?

So from the first season to the last are there things which you feel should have stayed outside of course of the character shots which moved with the seasons.

For me they should have kept Amy Mother's scream and the cauldron sound effect and visual. Both were very atmospheric and tied in nicely with some of the grand themes of the show.

I always hear the scream even when it's not there. I just want it there 🙂

I would keep Xander in the speedo. Lol. I'm sure there are some scenes that I would keep. I wouldn't keep the culdron sound effect, maybe the scream. I'm just really use to the season 3 credits.
 
Buffy and Faith dancing... oh wait, that's the S4 credits isn't it? Well, I would have kept it in the later seasons then. 😀
 
I want Buffy's stake spin. To this day I'm still not sure if SMG actually did that, or if it was some sort of effect, but it's v cool 😀

No its fine, you can include something which came later, but which you would have liked to have seen stayed in. Agreed with you on that as it would be a nice tribute to the Faith character who of course would return.

@Athena Great call with the stake spin! That is quite a skill😀

Another two I would have kept is the shot of the Scobbies heading out of the library and onto another mission, and Buffy as Little Red Riding Hood. Both iconic for different reasons😉
 
Isn't Faith and Buffy dancing in every subsequent series credits? I can't remember really because I ff the credits 😉

I know it's in the S4 and S5 credits, not sure about 6 but it's definitely not in 7

Just checked. They had it in for a couple of seasons from 4 to 6 then removed it from 6 onwards. Shame.

By the way I think my pick for worse Buffy title sequence would go to S7. It has some of the worse character shots and very few of them actually fit with the flow of the music.

Another couple I'd keep are Willow's cheeky wave to Oz, and Tara blowing the dust. Really like Buffy's shot from Anne too.

Oh and Mr. Trick should have stayed in the titles, not that I'm bias or anything😉
 
I would have kept the screech from the openings of the first 2 seasons, it's absence is felt later on.
 
You mean besides all the Bangel or Angel moments? 😉 But seriously, Angel's jump in the season 3 opening credits was well timed. I liked the last shot of Buffy looking up at Luke from season 1, in the season 2 opening credits, and, in season 3, the last shot of the Scoobies (walking in the school hallway).

Well the shot from Anne is very distinct and iconic so that is a must for me. Buffy just has such a bad arse look on her face, no one would mess with her in that mood!😛

Agreed, but the stare down she gives those vamps... and right after fooling Luke into believing it was sunrise and her line "It's in about nine hours, moron." C'mon that's equally badass 😉

When it comes to Buffy, yes, because it's a simple tune. The only one I can sit through and not feel the need to skip is Angel's theme. It really sets the mood.

If you are marathoning any tv show I can't imagine sitting though all the credits. 😕

I love Angel's theme!
I like Spike rocking out in his car, I'd keep that. And Spike holding Dru leaving in Becoming pt2. I agree that season 7 is probably the weakest credits. It's just boring and not many memorable shots.

I do love that shot. I'm guessing the stake was on a spinner attached to her hand.

Well I agree with you on the Angel theme, but its a big no for the Buffy theme! Its truly iconic😛 The length of it is perfect, it matches the images, and is another way in which the show subverts the expected norm🙂

It may be iconic, but we've been watching the show since we were teenagers and it grates a bit after that many years.
