Little versions...

oh I figure adopting a child when they're young is the best idea so they grow up knowing you as their parent from the youngest age. One of the main points about being a parent is putting up with all that, Terry. Let's just say adoption is just a better looking alternative than to squirt out the kid yourself... that actually made me sound a bit cruel. lol

Well considering I got a text message from Cordelia last night on updates on the soon to be new baby. I'm keeping my legs crossed, it sounds far too painful!!!

now days with epidurals...the pain is intense for about a minute...but after that...ya don't even feel the birth..

Have to agree with Willow here, gasm-the birthing process is gonna be painful no matter how much drugs you have in your system--and from what I've heard, due to some complications with my back, I cannothave an epidural so it's natural child birth all the way---which is pretty much the scariest thing i can imagine at this point 😉

it is scary...11 months ago when my aunt had her kid she had to have a seasexion and everything and she almost died...

c-section? That's a cesarean section; in the UK at the moment the government are trying to radically cut down on the number of c-sections performed under the NHS, because at present you can "elect" for a c-section (or as the tabloids put it; those who are 'too posh to push') 😀

Still waiting on a text message from Cordelia or Wesley....

its impossible to feel anything with an epidural...mothers have told me that after the ep they felt nothing...they pretty much disable all the sensory nerves in the spine...

And as such can lead to spinal problems, up to and including permanent paralysis from the waist down; they can also be only used at a specific time, beyond that tiem they can harm the child. Not to mention the fact that all's well and good until the epidural wears off afterwards, leaving the pain of what's happened; in any event it's a large thing coming out of a small place, and is going to hurt one hell of a lot 🙂

Had two c-sections.. TWO! and not my idea of fun. Both for emergency reasons and i had to be put under general anaesthetic as they both had to be delivered like..... immediately!.

I often felt like i hadn't truly given birth as i hadn't gone through labour, or felt the pain of labour, but i had major abdominal surgery, twice, and each time it took me six weeks to get over it. No heavy lifting, the heaviest i was allowed to lift was the baby. I had to rely on my family's help for everything, which may sound cool to a lot of you guys, but i'm pretty independent and i like to do a lot of stuff myself, so i found that hard to deal with. I was up and about the day after having my kids, but walking was slow and pretty laborious for a few days, i couldn't laugh and if i felt like i had to sneeze or cough, i had to hold a pillow to my stomach. And then you hope your stitches don't get infected! (mine didn't both times thank God).

So those who think a c-section is a cop out, ie, "too posh to push", it isn't really, the hard work for us is in the weeks after the delivery.

Oh, and Willow, has Cordelia had her baby yet? Would you let me know when she does please? 🙂

I think no matter what, having something that size coming out is gonna cause pain somewhere 🙁
Sure will do; once I get the text, it'll be posted to BB News at the top, it should be anytime in the next seven days 🙂

after you have a c-section you have to have them again every time you have a child...

Not strictly true. It depends on the circumstances, but if a mum to be who has had one caesarean wants to try a natural birth, then that shouldn't be a problem, she'll be closely monitored during the labour in case the scar ruptures. But usually if you've had two or more caesareans, then another one is usually recommended as the scar gets progressively weaker with each pregnancy 🙂 I was all planned to have a natural delivery with my daughter until fate stepped in.

lol...cordelia's baby is going to have great board powers...cause it was conceived by two mod members...probably create a new mod...like a royal mod..lol..

All hail Cordelia and Wes' baby! King or Queen of all mods and posters! We bow before thee! (As soon as we know that your born, already!)

yeah man...the baby is going to have like a blood line now...lol... if this ever happened..it would be gay...
