Living Doll. What's the point of this issue?

I've read Living Doll and throughly disappointed in it. The only thing that happened was closure between Dawn and this Kenny guy.

I'm getting more and more frustrated with this season. Its been up and down for me. The only reason why I'm keeping up is because I want to know who Twlight is.

Living Doll and the Harmony story is the two worst so far.
 
It did seem to be pretty much a filler episode, other than to de-giant/centaur/doll Dawn and to finally show us just what a Thricewise demon looked like (no big shock, since the cover picture was published way beforehand. I keep hoping that we will finally get back to the Twilight issue. So far,he or it has been the least seen Big Bad in the entire series, except possibly for Season 6, and only then if you disregard who we wqere led to believe was the Big Bad throughout the season.
 
The point, from a production standpoint, was probably to give the writing crew some time to figure out where exactly they're going with the next issues. They gave us some "filler" issues while they were working on the main story.
 
Living Doll was the only issue I really liked out of the Predators and Prey arc. And at least Dawn's transformation issues were resolved.

I've been mostly frustrated with the comics since Wolves at the Gate started. So many absurd moments in that arc. Since then I read them and enjoy them on a different level and not try to take them seriously or as a true continuation of the TV series. If I had to think of these as canon, I'd lose my mind with each new issue.
 
Like I said though, they probably needed time to flesh out the main story a little more, to break what's going to happen next in much more detail.

It's a double-edged sword almost, in that... if they go 3 or 4 months with no new issues, fans will be mad; if they come out with issues that add nothing to the main story line, fans will be mad.

Personally, I don't mind this arc. I understand why people don't, but I guess I'd rather have a few 'fillers' in between--it gives us more Buffy. Even though they're seen as fillers though, don't they add to the story? Maybe not the Twilight story, but it tells about Dawn, about what's happening in the world (ie: how people view Slayers now, which will probably have a great impact on the main story)... etc? I'm not familiar enough with the comics to go point by point on them, but I never thought they detracted from the main arc, they just didn't add a ton to it.
