Living in a school bus

I don't how you foreigners do it, but we Americans get bused to school in contraptions like this:

Not like the short busses that Xander rode in in the Buffy series (no jokes about him riding the short bus, it really WAS a short bus)

But anyway, this here couple purchased a school bus and decided to make it their home, and Everything was built to be sturdy or be stored easily for when the bus is moving. That’s right – it still runs. Witness and pay homage:

Wow! 😱 I love how they've gone the whole hog and tiled the thing lol. The 'bedroom' is simply gorgeous, I would love a bed like that...probably would have to mind how you get in after one too many though 😵 I love what they've done with having the little top part as a mini room in itself - it's remarkably spacious considering how small it looks from the outside!

Yeah it looks so amazing looking down from up there lol it looks awesome. Anyone taller than say 5'4 might end up with permanent spinal problems though :/

I'm assuming they aren't planning a family any time soon - one wonders where the offspring will go!

Way back when I was a carnie I knew a couple who made the circuit in a school bus. Not as nice as this one, but pretty sweet. Amazing what you can do with vision!

Yeah, back when I was a kid, you could buy a pretty good used school bus really cheap, and quite a few of them were converted into living quarters for people whose work involved frequent traveling. They were cheaper and more practical than trailers, and could be customized into just about anything from a shack on wheels to a real comfortable living quarters for one or two people. They were the forerunners of today's motor homes.

I was what we called a '40 miler' - stayed for the season and then moved on. I did two seasons and part of a third. Amazing really - very much an intense family. I really love the carnie kids - no school and every carnie on the lot watching out for them. Do you know what a carnie wedding is?

Three times backwards on the wheel (ferris) and you have moved into the land of marriage. Then everyone hangs out and gets drunk if desired. Went to a few of them - well, can't say went to because I was there either way. Toughest part of living on the road is eating carnival food for a diet and sleeping in a tent in the back lot. 😎

Nope - the divorce usually involves alcohol, weapons, and someone getting 86ed (tossed off the lot). Well, not always but fairly often one will move to another show, or be asked to move with a cash settlement in hand depending on how close they are to the owner. Never saw the wheel involved though I was told you could reverse the wedding by 3 spins in the forward direction.

Carnies are either born to it or find family, work, a chance to fight - one friend had had a nice trucking business but a car accident took his wife and only child and he drank away the business. Everyone has stories like that - but don't let sympathy get you screwed. It's us vs them!

I'm under 5'2, so I probably won't have to deal with this problem if I were to live on a school bus.

Anyways, I like the concept of being able to turn a vehicle into a house 🙂
