Loading Issues

I'm not sure if it's only me - in fact, if it wasn't just on BB, I would think somethign is up with my internet in general. But anyway, Buffy-Boards will not load for me, especially on Google Chrome. I had a little more luck on Internet Explorer, but not much.

It takes about five minutes for a page to load, as upposed to almost automatically. It usually is almost automatically... even on bad days or with tons of people, I have never had to wait more than a minute. Occasionally, it freezes up completely and I have to pull up a new tab and try again.

As I said, I would think it was just my computer, but it only happens on BB. I have tabs up with Facebook and FictionPress, and they operate just fine.
 
Let me load Chrome and see if I have the same problem. Like I've posted elsewhere, we were having some server troubles today, but I haven't had loading issue for I'd say the past...6 hours or so?

Hmm it's loading faster than on Firefox for me...

Yeah, I'm using Chrome and it's working just fine.
 
I'm also using Chrome and mine has been working fine. It sounds like maybe it's the connection on your end?
 
I'm having the same problem. It started yesterday, and it's still happening. I've tried coming on here at work and it also happens there... So it's not my connection or computer. I haven't had this problem anywhere else online, so I'm guessing there's something with the server hosting BB still. 😛

Yay, I'm not going crazy!
Sounds like the problem I have been having. Which started yesterday. I would click on something and a white page would come up and then there would be things missing and the page wouldn't scroll all the way to the end of the page. I got a new browser and it is still happening. It is just on the BB. Pages on other websites and boards load just fine. I just now refreshed the page and it came up. I have done that twice already. I am glad others are having the same problem. 🙂
 
Don't know if this is just my computer but when i open my browser i have four different tabs set as my home pages and BB is one of them...all of the pages load correctly except for BB and it says:

"Navigation to this web page has been cancelled"

When i refresh the page it takes a few mins but it works fine. Happened three days in a row now.
 
My pages load but they have a tendency to be cut off. Show everything to half the page to right below the quick reply box but above the reply button. I use Firefox and haven't tried any other browser. It only happens on BB as far as I know. Haven't tried AD yet.

Problem solved by refreshing the page, sometimes a few times. So it could be worse of course. I'm just lazy and impatient. 😉
 
This is still happening to me. I've tried coming here with IExplorer and it tells me ''IExplorer cannot open https://www.buffy-boards.com'' ''Operation failed''. Then if I try to diagnose my connection, it says it's fine and to try and refresh the page. Uh oh.

That was happening with IE with me too. So I dumped that computer on my mom
It's not as bad for me anymore... I'm hoping it'll resolve on it's own. But I still have to refresh now and again to get it working, especially when it goes from the home page to a thread.
 
I've tried turning off a bunch of add-ons, my firewall and AV and so on... Even uninstalling them in case, but nope. I've also realized that ever since this started happening, I can't click the icons in the 'Reply to Thread' window. Weither it's the smileys, the bolding/italic/underlined/centered ect... Same thing with the menu at the top of BB. Before I could just mouse over 'Member Community' to see all the choices, now I can't.
 
So I've been talking out this issue with our webhost, cause he's a smart guy lol, and he told me the following:

"Generally if a page is loading half way, but not all the way, that is due to external content (i.e. something not hosted by us) that is holding/delaying things up. A plugin like FireBug for FireFox and then watching the "Net" tab would be helpful.

Here is one shot showing external content (all of which, we obviously have no control over that could slow things down/cause them to stop)"

Ironically, Tome, your Canada banner was one of the things taking a lot longer than normal to load. Most everything were images from photobucket, and the icon contest banners on tinypic.

So if people could try to not use img code in posts at least, and keep your banners within the size limits, that would potentially help.

And anyone who is having this problem, if you have firebug and can send me a screenshot of that net tab when it's happening, that would be helpful.
