Warning: Don't read if you don't like animal violence.
There's a neighbor who lives 2 houses down from mine who owns 3 dogs. One dog is a german shepperd and the other three are pit bulls. The 2 pitballs are extremely vicious, which makes me suspect they were breeded and train for violence. My neighbors don't have a fence around their house and they do not keep their dogs on the leash. They let the dogs roam free up and down the street. Now, I have a small shelty mix who is one of the most gentle dogs you'll ever meet. For a while the neighobrs dogs had been turning over our garbage, breaking stuff on our lawn, causing disturbances, etc. This one day I let my dog out on the leash and I went back inside to do homework. A few moments later I heard all these dogs barking, so I got up and looked out my window. My neighbors dogs (the 2 pit bulls and the german shepperd) were seriously mawling my dog. I ran outside and started yelling at the dogs, but that didn't stop them. Ok, I don't like violence towards animals. If I know it's going to happen on TV, I'll change the channel. At the same time, I'm not about to let these dogs mawl my dog to death. So I ran up and kicked one of the dogs in the stomach. It turned on me and jumped up and bit down onto my arm. It had sharp teeth so it broke skin, and blood started going everywhere. Another one of them knocked me to the ground somehow and I was holding it by the neck and it was snapping at me. If I let go it would bite my neck or something. I threw the dog off me and stood up. THe other dog (one of the pit bulls) started growling at me. My brother was playing baseball the day before and he left the bat on the ground. I picked up the bat and cracked the dog across the face as it jumped at me. The german sheppard ran at me, but I didn't have enough time and it bit down on my leg and dragged me to the ground. There was a stick on the ground so I grabbed that and...well...stabbed the dog in the eye. That dog and the other pitbull backed off and went running down the street and then the other one followed. I went an inspected my dog and she had cuts all over her body, her leg was broken and bleeding everywhere, and she was spitting up blood. I took my dog inside and called my dad and told him to come home. THat's when my door bell rang. I went to the door and it was the owner of the dogs. She stars screaming her head off with "What the (bleep) did you do? My dog has a (bleeping) stick in it's eye and the other's skull is broken!" and I just stood there like "they started it." and she said "I'm calling the police and you're going to get arrested for this!" She went back down to her house and soon my a cop came to the house. I thought it was good because obviously we were the victims. I mean, look at the facts. My dog was on a leash, they weren't. My dog didn't attack, they did. I'm bleeding on my arm and leg, but then again so were they. I walked out of my house confidently and the police guy goes "I'm (i forget his name) and I'm the chief of police." and I said something like "Good because these dogs just attacked me and my dogs" and then he surprised me with "those dogs are mine..." He let me get away with it because he knows that we are the innocent party, but he never did anything to help the situation. The dogs still come up and cause disturbances. My dog is fine. She spent the night at the hospital, as did I. I had to get stitches in my arms and my leg.
One of the neighbors dogs were on my lawn as I got home. It was up against the door and barking at my dog through the glass door.
This problem has to be solved somehow. We can't go to the police because the guilty party is protected.
Any suggestions?
