Long Way Home/The Girl in Question connections

Something my dad mentioned made me wonder....

in "The Long Way Home" issue one of the season 8, they mention that there are other projections of Buffy that are all working on different things right? well, what if the buffy that was supposedly dating the Immortal wasn't the real Buffy? do you think thats a possibility?

That is, in fact what was happening. One of the decoys she mentions--the one in Rome living the party girl life--is the one that's dating the Immortal.

Makes you wonder, is the Immortal in league with Buffy then?

oh, so it really isn't buffy? huh, I didn't know that!

Does The Immortal know he's not dating the real Buffy? Or has Faux-Buffy sucked him in, and he thinks his dating one of the most powerful and influential women in the world. He's probably thinking how much power she'll get him with the parts of the Supernatural world he's not connected to. Like the Watchers and the Goodie-Two Shoes.
