I was just going through the pictures I have on my computer and look what I found:

A pic of the original Claddagh shop in Galway, Ireland. I ordered my ring from their ebay shop eons before I went there for the first time in February, and I like to pretend that Angel did that too. 😀

Anyone else on this board wearing a claddagh ring? Where's the heart pointing? 🙂

I think I might have ordered from the exact same store! And mine is facing outwards. Oh and I am not a Bangel but my family have Irish heritage so it was a 21st present.

I've been wearing Claddagh rings since I was seven (I got my first one from my aunt when I made my First Communion). I have a silver ring, it's a bit different from the traditional Claddagh, the heart, crown and hands are very small and dainty, and beneath them it looks like there is another plain band diagonally crossing them. I'm wearing it with the heart out. 🙂

HAHA Kean Winchester...
I used to have one but it was a really crappy one that cost like £3 in Camden lol

I'd like to get a new one. Does that store do silver ones? I only really wear silver jewelry.

I took my claddagh ring off. I need to polish it. It's beginning to tarnish. But I have a silver one. I wear it with the heart in. 🙂 My person loves that I wear it.

They have all kinds of different styles and metals, depending on your taste and budget 🙂 My friend got a really nice looking sterling silver one for €17 and mine's white gold, so it was a bit more expensive. I wear it on the right, heart pointing out as well. The kids I used to babysit were really fascinated with it and always checked whether I was wearing it correctly lol.

Edit: This is it:

I wear mine the same way ;)

Thanks, love. I could have looked myself but I have been fighting with a migraine all morning. How that affects my search capabilities I don't know but I'm going with it. Fire bad, tree pretty mentality today.

I was scared of the price before clicking but that's fairly reasonable. Not a 100% what that is in GBP but I'll find out.

Really? I don't think I paid anything more than €12 for mine.

Maybe that's just a native thing though. Out of principle alone I wouldn't pay the tourist prices lol

I have a claddagh ring I wanted once since I was little because my mom had one. I got it a few years ago and I haven't taken it off since. The heart is pointing out.

I have one my mom bought me for Christmas when I was 17... It's white gold and there are emeralds in the heart and diamonds in the crown. I dot know how much she paid but it was expensive; I do know that!

I wear mine the same way Angelus wears his. :evilgrin2 It's antiqued sterling silver, has some flaws and dents in it that I'm pretty sure were there when it was made, and is nicely solid (i.e., thick enough that if you wanted to smash it out of shape, you'd have to do it on purpose, and it would be difficult). I got it at the Texas Renaissance Festival in '08 for $24, and I've been wearing it every day since.

I have a silver one that I bought about 9 years ago from eBay 😀 I wear mine all the time 😀

My relatives got it for me when they went to Ireland but they lost it so I'm gonna buy it myself when I'm going to Ireland..hope it's not too long.

No, but many years ago, when I was still a Bangel, before Spuffy was born, I used to dream of buying this ring. I really really wanted one of those. Now I don't.

Did you stop thinking it was pretty? (Or is it completely 'Bangely' to you??)

It was back then when I wasn't only a Bangel, but also a Buffy merchandise nut. I wanted anything Buffy related, spent a lot of money. Also, I didn't know it was an Irish thing, I thought it was a Bangel ring so it was more special. One of the reasons I wouldn't wear it is because it's Bangely. But if they were to produce a Spuffy ring, necklace, whatever, I wouldn't buy it either, because today it seems a little waste of money. I almost never buy Buffy products anymore. So considering those elements, I wouldn't bother buying and wearing the ring, even though it's pretty.

I get what you're saying, I don't really buy merch or anything anymore :) I still want a claddagh though but that's cause I don't really think of it as Btvs stuff :)

Funny, I didn't know about the Buffy/Bangel connotation until last year, I solely wanted it for the Irishness. I squeeeeed so hard when I watched "Surprise", because now it's two of my favourite things in the world combined in one pretty little object 🙂
