looking into buying and reading season 8 for the first time.

I'm currently bidding on ebay for the entire brand new collection of Buffy season 8, all 40 issues. Currently the price is at 26.99 + 17.99 shipping. Is this a good price or good investment?

I want to read them, I'd rather not do it illegally if you know what I mean.

So basically $45.00 for the entire season? That probably is a good deal if it's important to you to have them in "new" condition. There are 8 trade paperbacks in the season, and they run 10 to 12 dollars new on Amazon - plus shipping if you're not a Prime member and I think also there's some level of purchase that gets free shipping on Amazon. So TPB's new would be 80 dollars or more plus shipping for the season.

On the other hand, you might be able to do better buying used TPB's through Amazon - I notice on quick glance that they can run 3 to 5 dollars each. But when you add shipping, and there's 8 of them, I guess you're ending up in pretty much the same place.

The TPBs are better, in a way. No fan letters, but they have all the one shots included that could be hard to chase down, and no ads. It's quite a spacesaver. And sometimes the TPBs are sold in lots on ebay for a decent price, or they're sold from the same seller, so you can save on shipping(I think that could be done on amazon as well). Or sometimes they're simply sold very cheap.

It depends how soon you want them, if you're willing to look for a better offer. What's your maximum bid?

TPB is Trade Paper Back 🙂 A collection of 5 comics in a book 🙂
I'm currently trying to buy all the TPB's too! 🙂 I've bought volume 1 and 2 from ebay for £2-3 each but they weren't new, bidding on number 3 at the mo which is a couple of £ dearer 🙄 lol

Like the poster above me said it stands for tradepaperback. It's a sort of soft cover volume/graphic novel(unlike hardcovers), that has a few issues in it. In season 8 TPBs case, mainly 5 issues (and sometimes one shots) included.

I looked at Amazon and they don't have the whole collection together. I really don't want to buy each one individually.

If someone wouldn't mind finding me a nice deal on the whole collection, I would be very much obliged. New is not importnt to me, as long as they are in good condition.

Btw, my max bid was 30, but someone outbid me. I dunno if I'm going to counter bid or not.
