Good news for lovers of the green skinned lounge lizard Lorne.

Andy Hallett has announced that he's becoming a regular Angel cast member, starting from episode 14 of season four, the current series airing in America.

"They just announced it two days ago," Hallett told journalists during the WB network's winter press preview. "You'll be seeing more of Lorne, which I never expected, by the way."

Originally Hallet had been signed for just two episodes, but quickly became a recurring character. This promotion to cast regular will see him appearing in the show's revamped credits for the first time.

Hallet revealed that he got the call straight from Joss Whedon himself. "I was absolutely stunned. He caught me totally off guard," said Andy. "They've been using me a lot anyway, so I kind of anticipated being with them for the duration, but I really wasn't sure. So this just really solidified it."
 
Thats cool, I really like the character of Lorne, he brings alot of humour to the show. 😀 It'll be good seeing him as a regular. 🙂🙂
 
I like him, he's a real comic relief, it's great that they've turned him into a regular ... wish I could have said the same thing for Tara/Amber Benson!
 
Well it's about time they gave us more Lorneiness. He is my 2nd favorite character so this is a huge plus. 🙂 🙂 I agree, I really think they gypped Amber in this area.
 
That's so great. 😀 Andy should have been a regular a long time ago, brilliant addition to the show. Lorne is such a great character.
 
This is really great news! At the end of S3 I was begining to become quite worried as I thought Lorne was leaving the show forever!

S4 of Angel sounds like it's gonna be real good! I can't wait for thursday nite to come!
 
I saw Andy at the Star Trek/Buffy Convention in Sacramento over this last weekend and he was talking about this. He was pretty excited about it and I have to say so am I.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
 
OMG! That's such great news! I'm soo happy for Andy. It's about freakin time they added him as a reg. They should've added him a long time ago. Well better late then never, right? I'm soo happy cause we'll get to see more Lorne! I love Lorne. He's my fave character on the show. Hope we get to see him sing more.
 
Woot! I can't believe it! He totally deserves it! I don't think that with anybody else but Andy, could the character of Lorne become what it has. Good show!

Yeah, I neve got why they didn't just have Tara as a regular cast member. I know that there was only the one episode where her name was in the opening credits.
 
Lorne totally ROCKS! He's my favourite character on Angel! He always has some funny comment and calls everyone by some weird names ::wave::
 
Great news! It's such a great character and Andy Hallett is brilliant as Lorne. No matter what the situation Lorne always manages to bring humour to it.😉
