I know it's a fragile subject. It was my birthday not so long ago and I also received card of my aunt and for first time it was only my aunt her autograph on it. So it remind me on my uncle, also my aunt is still thinking about him and she still doesn't feel very ok. But well, I wanted to ask you, did you already lose in your life any precious people(/animals) (caused by death)?

I lost two of my grandparents (though it didn't linger very hard on me, bit complicated) and one uncle.

The word you're looking for is losses 😉

And I haven't really lost anyone yet. Only 4 peopl died in my family since I was alive (+1 went missing in that Tsunami some years back...the one at the end of 2005 or whenever it was...the really big one), one when I was 4, so not that I remember a lot, and the other over the years, but no one I knew too well (they weren't even blood relatives...everyone of them was from the family of my fathers stepfather). Everyone else (mainly from my mom's side of the family) died before I was born, or, in the case of her father, only days after I was born (not that I would have know him even if he didn't die...my Mom hadn't talked to him in many years (I could elaborate, but it's just a really bad family history)).

oh, thanks for the correction :)
I've lost my sister and a step-cousin she was 12 years old and my sister was a month old. Sounds abit weird but i didn't really get upset with both of them i didn't get a chance to for any kind of bond or emotional connection, although i was upset at my family memebers being upset if you get my drift.

I've had many a pet die thorugh illness and old age. It sucks.

Well my twin sister died when she was inside my mother , my mother fell and lost my sister nearly lost me. Both of my grandfathers died before they where 50 and both of my Nana's died before i reached the age of 4 . My great uncle died soon after them .

My mother died of cancer 3 years ago and my uncle died of cancer last year just after christmas. I think of them each day , looking at the empty chair they used to sit in is a strange feeling , as if I am still waiting for them to come home. We have a christmas rememberence day at the hospice my mother died , each light on the christmas tree represents a loss to cancer .

I also lost my two pets when i was a child they where my family as much as anyone , i miss them still to this day.

But life is for the living , enjoy it because you may only get one chance .

I lost a brother, he was killed in a motorbike crash, he was 19, i was 8, and 5 years ago i lost my mother to cancer. My grandmother as well, she lived with us, she died when i was 5. It's a hard thing to deal with, but at least i had them in my life, and i will always be grateful for that.

My granny. I was really close to her and she was really ill. She died in hospital, my aunt and dad were going to visit her and I wanted to come, but they said she was really ill this time and that I couldn't come. I'd even made her a get well card. They arrived at the hospital 5 minutes too late. 🙁

hey,
i know what its like to lose a loved one/somebody close.
i lost my gran 5 years ago round xmas so its still hard even now to celebrate like how i used to without her being here with me n my family. the worst thing about it, it was the fact it was sudden, so it was a shock, i was still at school at the time, and got sent home and stayed off for a week because i was that bad. it does get easier to cope though, the best way i coped was having my friends and family understand what i was going through, and talking to them really helped me. talking really helps, dont bottle up your feelings, because i did that to start off with, and all it does is create much more hurt inside. if you need anybody to talk to, im here and im sure loads of people on here will be here for you aswell. keep smiling, and just think to yourself that your family wouldnt want to see you upset. i hope this helps you some.

I've lost my Grandparents when i was 13, i lost my Mum to a rare leukemia 18 months ago. These are the big losses for me my Mum being the bigest loss and still hurting today for many reasons.

The men from my dad's side of the family have a tendency not to get old. I've lost my dad to suicide 9 years ago, and my uncle - his brother, who also was my godfather - to cancer this year. I grieve most for my granddad, however, who passed away 26 years ago, when I was eight, and I still miss him very, very much and think of him often. Just loved that man to bits, he was by far the family member I was closest to way back then. 🙁

Also, I've lost our family cat who also died of cancer (she was rather senior for a cat, though). I wasn't around anymore when she passed away (a bit more than a year after I moved out), but I still often think of her, too - even though she was very neurotic and sometimes showed a mean streak, I loved that crazy old puss. I miss her. 🙁

Between January and July of 1990, we lost my mother and father, my grandmother my wife's grandmother, two aunts, an uncle, and a cousin.

I've lost a child before he was born, last year on April 19th. Four months later one of my friends lost her 10 month old due to a defective crib (which was only recalled AFTER about 5 babies had died from it). Those and my grandfather (his funeral was on my 18th birthday...not fun) have been the ones that have impacted me the most.

I lost a baby last summer about 8 weeks into my pregnancy. It was terribly devastating, because I was already very attached to the baby. I still am quite upset about it, but I try to stay positive that it will be my time again.

My great uncles funeral was yesterday, Ma (step-grandma) died a few months ago, my godmother died at the start of the year and the other step grandparents died a few years back (they lived into their 90s). We have to go to Sydney for chrissy to visit other elderly relatives cos they are probably going to die soon anyway. Dads not far off either.
The one that makes me saddest at the moment is the pony we lost 2 weeks ago today. We watched her die infront of us, it was horrible because we couldnt find anyone to come and put her to sleep and we thought we would have to watch her suffer in pain for hours before someone could give her the green dream but luckily she died within about 20 minutes of dropping and she was dosed with pain killers. Its odd that Im more upset by the death of this pony than the others. I feel bad that I should be more upset by human deaths but Im not.

I lost my grandma in February this year, that was the first big loss, and still hurts when I think about it. But I know it was her time.

Only other loss was that of my cat nearly 2 years ago now. We presume he was hit by a car but can't be sure..we made the huge mistake of not insuring him and couldn't afford to pay for the treatment that possibly could have kept him alive. It still makes me angry though..a human wouldn't be put down when there was still more to be done to save them, so why would an animal just because the owner couldn't afford to pay.

I'm sorry for everyone's losses..especially those who have lost loved ones before their time.

I lost my grandfather when i was 12. we were extremely close.

I lost my aunt a bit younger than that, but i dont remember much.

I lost another aunt/god mother at 16 to brain cancer.

I lost my mom beginning of last year to a virus in her heart, it was very sudden and it has been a very trying experience to continue on without her.

I havent really lost that many people but I lost both of my uncles to cancer. The first one was just before christmas last year, we had the funeral on Christmas Eve, the second one in July of this year. I was kind of dazed by the whole thing, even being at the funerals didnt make it real for me. Until I got given a card from my uncle a day after the funeral, it just had my christmas gift in it and all it said was "all of my love to my darling neice" that is when it kinda hit me for some reason and I cried about it for the first time. Its coming up to the big family christmas party that we hold early every year in the beginning of december, its the one where all the extended family and close friends turn up and it was usually held by both of them. I just found out we are going ahead with it at their house because it is what they would have wanted, its gonna be pretty akward but I ofcourse am going.

I have lost a few people. My best friend, and my grandpa. He died of cancer. Really annoying. It was so hard watching him being weak and all. He owned a farm, and was always doing something. Always working and having a lot of energy. Seeing him lie in a bed unable to do anything was one of the most horrible things ever. I really miss him.

My father passed away when I was 11 years old and I KNOW I've never properly dealt with it. My mom and dad weren't together, they'd divorced when I was like 2. When he died he lived in Puerto Rico and my crappy ex-stepfather had moved us to Florida... I wasn't even flown out to go to his funeral, still have never been to his grave, so yeah I know I haven't dealt, but its just not something thats talked about at all in my family and besides my half siblings, I'm not in contact with anyone from my dad's side of the family...

When I was in the 8th grade my best friend committed suicide, shot himself in the head... it was the single most awful thing I've ever had to go through, still can't even believe it actually happened sometimes.

So I guess you can say I'm familiar with loss too.
