Lost Numbers in Veronica Mars

Hey I was just wondering if anyone can explain why the Numbers from Lost (4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42) are in Veroica Mars??

There at the end of Donut Run, Veroica puts a piece of Paper on her mirror and it says:

True Love Stories
Never have an Ending
4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

?!?

Isn't that message from the fortune cookie?

Kind of ironic, because I imagine those cursed numbers in Lost are supposed to be fortune cookie lucky numbers in VM.

It isn't unusual for VM to do that cultural reference shoutout thing I don't think. Here's another one from the same episode.

Yeah, as N4H said, culture references in Veronica Mars is very common, so I'd say that's what those numbers are..
And yup, it is the fortune cookie message..

Yeah I think Rob Thomas just put them in there as a fun little reference to the shows biggest competition (well at the time, as they aired at the same time).
