The next season of Lost will be the final one. I think we will have to wait until January to get our next Lost fix.

Since the Season Five thread has now been closed, I thought a discussion thread before season Six starts might be fun.

So I'm just wondering what everyone thinks the big reveal will be. How will it all end, and what have the previous episodes been leading towards.

So here is an all round discussion thread for Lost, what has happened, what you think will happen, and how will it all end.

So go Lost fans 🙂

Some of my thoughts. Our first hint of what it may all be about, Locke playing a game of backgammon in season 1.

Locke: Backgammon is the oldest game in the world. Archaeologists found sets when they excavated the ruins of ancient Mesopotamia. Five thousand years old. That's older than Jesus Christ.
Walt: Did they have dice and stuff?
Locke: [nods] But theirs weren't made of plastic. Their dice were made of bones.
Walt: Cool.
Locke: Two players. Two sides. One is light. One is dark.

It might all just be a good versus evil scenario. Jacob is light, the man glimpsed in the season five finale is Dark.
The survivors are their pawns, and the game has always ended the same. With the dark side winning.

"They come, fight, they destroy, they corrupt. It always ends the same." -Man
"It only ends once. Anything that happens before that, it's just progress." -Jacob

Jacob is trying to prove that humanity's good side can win out. The man in the black shirt, has seen many times on the Island, that this is not the case, and is sick of playing the game. By finding his loop-hole and killing Jacob, he hopes the game has ended.

If anyone has their own thoughts and theories - please share. 🙂

I agree that there is some kind of good versus evil thing going on here, or at least some kind of epic power struggle between two players on the island. I'm thinking it may be time for me to throw on my DVDs and watch the early episodes again because the end of season five definitely changes things and I'm sure I could pick up new things by rewatching. And I'm just nerdy enough to waste my time rewatching again too.

I'm glad someone started a new Lost thread. I've just done a re-watch of seasons 1-4 and it has been very illuminating. I'm certainly gonna watch season five again during our looooong wait for season six. I haven't actually seen the final episode of season five yet as in Australia (where i am) they cut it into two one hour eps. But of course, i'm totally spoilt and know what happens but I'm still looking forward to watching it on Wednesday.

I can't wait for the season next year. It's about time to get closure on all the strange and mystical things there have been going on. I doubt Juliet is alive, although I'd love it. But as it often goes in LOST, people die like flies.
I have no idea what's in store for the 6th season. The writers have created a show that has so many twists and turns, you never truly know where it's at. Brilliant.

So who's eye do guys think that is in the teaser trailer? Do you think its even significant?
I think it's Jacks.
This post on the LOST forum compares the eye from the first episode and the eye from the season 6 promo, and they look the same.

yeah thats what i was thinking too.
If Julie has reset things by setting off that bomb, it means anyone could be alive, we could have the whole cast back for the last season!

I don't know that she did pull it off, but it sounds like they are trying to get former cast members for guest spots at least. I've read Elizabeth Mitchell will be in a few episodes next season, Dominic Monaghan is supposed to be appearing in two ABC shows next year according to EW (one must be LOST) and said awhile back that there was mutual interest in bringing his character back, and Ian Somerhalder has come out and said that Boone will be appearing on LOST next season. Also Richard is going to be upgraded to a full cast member next season.
