We tend to be able to cope with rain in the UK, probably because we get so much of it. The problem we have is when it snows. We seem to forget how to function; flights get cancelled, business and schools shut down, its manic!

Vampjenny - you're right; we don't expect (or get) much rain in LA. Which is probably why when it does happen a large percentage of our residents lose all brain function.

caitaintdead - while the lovely ladies of Raiden won't be volunteering to clean up any of Drogyn's vomit, we are kind enough to help hold your hair back while you spew. 😉 Maybe the gals in Merrick will sign up for cleaning duty? 😀

Snow does tend to be a bit more messy than rain, though 😉

I might complain a lot about living in Quebec, but the good thing is I'm used to every possible weather. Rain, snow, drizzle, hail... name it, we have it every year... Not the best tourist attraction, but I can laugh at all the other countries for one reason or another 😛

No way, not cleaning vomit. We'll provide the aspirin, water and coffee for the hangover, though. 😀

I don't think us Merrickans will want to have that job either, they spew it up, they clean it up!

haha!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if Drogyn is taking care of PartA (geddit, partay?) with the vomit then perhaps another dorm should be taking care of Part B. The vomit clean up.

I know that in VH we like to think of ourselves as full of spirit and kindness to our fellow (wo)man but when it comes to chunder clean-up, you're on your own 🙂

Looks like we need some house elves! 😉
Jules Don't you thnik this hosepipe ban is crazy? Not that I ever use the hosepipe. But I can't see how the 'experts' can keep saying there isn't enough still. -.-

That hosepipe ban is silly, its rained here for the past 4 days!

Too right! Up here the world comes to a standstill on the islands. We cope with storms coming off the seas and winds getting over 80mph but when it comes to snow we look at it as if it's a new phenomenon.

Really? I thought the Scotland pretty much always had snow. :p
From what I remember of Perth, the fun thing with the freeways was that the train lines run in between the lanes, which I've never seen anywhere else. I was staying in Kingsley and caught the train one day from Whitfords, if that means anything, although I was seriously jetlagged (first long haul flight ever) for a couple of days and completely lost my sense of direction.

We seem to cope OK with snow in Yorkshire- the only time I can remember it being properly bad was the December before last when all the snow came between about 8 and 3 so everybody could get to work OK but they were stuck in the city when it snowed- and it snowed heavily for a good four hours or so.

Yep yep, the trains are in the middle, a few cars have crashed and flipped on to the train lines so im not sure if it was such a good idea lol
Right now I'm working on a whole project that is due tomorrow and haven't really started on... I'm the worst of the procrastinators. 🙁

That first long haul flight really knocks it out of you! Yeah the train line in the middle thing can be strange I suppose but I'm also fairly certain that is only for the northern line (that Whitfords is on).

I actually lived up that way for a little while but it's way to out of the way for me!

I was just up north last night at a pub for a work thing. It felt so strange being in the middle of nowhere like that. I'm definitely a city girl! Well, as much of a city girl that you can be in Perth 😛

Oh I'm mad!! Last night I went to a club with some friends, a girl that was with us had a little bottle of gin lemon in her handbag and when we were inside she took it out. I don't know how it's possible, but someone from the staff saw her and she was kicked out. I asked to the bouncer if I could walk her home (she lives 5minutes from the club) and then re enter having the club's stamp on my hand and he said yes. I walked her home and I went back (15 mins) and he didn't let me in!! I tried to insist a bit but it was pointless. I asked to get my 10 euros for entrance back since I stayed inside like 5seconds and they denied! Never going there again!!

That's pretty crazy.
Ah, that's awful! Stupid club! You got punished for being chivalrous. 🙂
But kudos to you for walking her home! That's really sweet.
