Lounge/ Common Room/ Tea Bar - Thread #4

Enemies - Enjoy your camping trip!! Sounds like it will be fun and an adventure. Hope the interview went well and you get the job!!

My summer has been pretty uneventful lately. Been mostly doing some TV series watching (On my 3rd rewatch of Buffy, and watching through Smallville and Dawson's Creek), but of course I've been going out and hanging out with friends, gotta get that vitamin D!

I'm looking forward to August though which is when I'll be going to Quebec for the fair and to visit family. 🙂

Yay for fairs and visiting! Always fun. Also, if you're bored, PM me your vote for VH August MotM. 😀 (Oh, yes, I'm shameless!) 😛

It's a nasty, humid, cloudy day today. I had my glucose test and baby and mama are in perfect health!

Congrats! I didn't know you were pregnant.
Here I am, as always, posting in the general thread when I know I have to leave soon for dinner. xD

I'm enjoying my time in Toronto. 🙂 I'm in Toronto for a few days. Actually, I have been in Toronto since Sunday night/Monday morning. I'm going back home tomorrow.

I went to my aunt's cottage this past weekend. I had loads of fun. 😀

Yay! TWO replies! I was beginning to think I killed the thread. 🙁

Klutziness...hmmm. My mom banned me from holding the tv remote because I always, ALWAYS, drop it somehow. I really can't explain how it happens.

I'm not much of a dropper (until the end of my pregnancies - then I drop stuff all the freaking time. And most of the time I leave it on the floor because I can't bend over.) but I walk into stuff and trip pretty much constantly.

I thought the first part of that was referring to 'dropping sprogs' which is a Britsh colloquialism for giving birth 🙂

I'm conflicted about buying an iPad. On one hand, it would be really useful for uni; on the other, am I just impulse buying? I think about the fact that while I'd be out buying an iPad, there's millions of people in Africa and other places starving. Does buying an iPad make me an awful person?

Not at all. I'm guessing you've been thinking of buying one for more than five minutes, so that's not really impulse. Plus, if it helps you with school work, definitely worth it!

Yes, people are suffering and starving, but there are lots of ways to donate to charity, etc. other than giving money. 🙂

I really believe that there's no sense in being ashamed of your privileges, but it's very important to know you have them. 🙂 And it applies to everything, not just money related stuff!

right on!
It always intrigues me how most of the people I see using iPads seem to be using them just to read the newspaper! Including my friend George, whose wife bought him one specifically so he can download the paper when they're on holiday in Spain.

With that kind of thing, I find it always helps to work out what you're going to use it for first- I justified buying a Kindle to myself on the grounds that I have a small living space and it helps if I'm not constantly filling it with books.
