Spikes a vamp with a bite
Buffy jumped off the bus and headed toward her street . That's when she saw the moving vans in front of the Rayns old houses.
It had been empty for about a year for when their son left for collage and the mother died.
Mr.Rayn Had told her mother that he was moving back to England for awhile and would make sure that he wrote her .
Before he left him and his son Angel (witch buffy had a crush on for more then 4 years) came over and thanked them for being so friendly and wished them well.
Buffy had missed angel a lot but he still wrote her mom and called her. He had told her that they could be friends that had broke her heart but he was older then her and if she couldn't have him she would settle for friendship.
Buffy looked at the movers as they unloaded boxes from the vans. She wondered what the family was like and if they had any kids.
That's when she saw her mothers car in the drive this was a shock for her as her mother normally didn't get home from the gallery till diner time.
She walked in to the house and into the kitchen there sat her mother at the breakfast nook reading her paper she looked up and said "hi honey how was school?"
Buffy sat her bag down and leaned up on the counter.
"fine cordy made me drop my lunch tray in front of everyone but no big why are you home so early?"
"oh we got a shipment of Norwegian art in and I have to find out what the history is on them so Iran told me I could go home and do it so here I am. Oh I brote in your bundles and took out my paper."
She pointed to the two bundles of papers on the far side of the counter.
Buffy had taken a paper route for a little extra money over the summer and enjoyed it but some days she wished that she didn't have it so that she could hang out with her friends or curl up on her bed and listen to music much like she wanted to do now.
She went to the hall closet and garbed her paper bag out she put her papers in and was about to head out the door when her mother yelled
"Oh buffy I want you back here after your done so no stopping at willows OK?"
buffy growled "why?"
"we're going over to introduce ourselves to the new family that moved into the Rayn place."
buffy wanted to meet them but not now but also knew how her mother could be so she told her she would come back right after the route so they could meet them then left.

She was delivering her last paper when willow came out and waved her down
"hey are you going to the bronze with us tonight?"
"yeah but I'll have to talk to you latter my mom is making me meet the new family so I can't talk now"
" OH the Giles there real nice my mom welcomed them this morning when they got here.She said that Mr.... Giles is real funny and that he is looking in on the library position at the school and Mrs.... Giles is very kind."
"she told mom that they would have to wait to meet their son cuz he wasn't there."
"mom said that she told her he was real smart that he could have skipped 7th and 8th grade but choose not to and that's when mom told them about me she thought that we would be great "study buddies"
buffy laughed she knew what that meant the last study buddy willow had was jothan and her mom had been trying to get them together.
"so you didn't meet him?"
"no alls I know is that he are age."
"OK see yah will"
she was walking home when she walked past the Rayns old place. She herd shouting. She looked up to where angels old room had been and saw a woman that looked a lot like her mom yelling at a boy.
He threw his arms out at the woman as he yelled "well I never wanted to come here in the first place you made me come."
He turned to the window and saw her. He leered at her and slammed the window shut.
The bang was what snapped buffy back to earth.
She walked to the house next door and there was her mother waiting for her. She was wrapping up some muffins in a basket she knew was for the new neighbors.
When she walked in her mom saw her she said "why don't you go get cleaned up so we can go meet them " she smiled at her buffy smiled back and went up the stairs to her room.
She looked out her window to see if the young boy was still in the room that use to be angels but the blinds where closed.
She went in to her bathroom and cleaned her face and hands of paper print and brushed her hair.
She wondered if the boy was that smart like will had said she her self was a strait A student but it took her a lot of work to stay there. Right now she was just getting by the skin of her teeth in English and her algebra classes.
She went to her mirror and looked at her outfit it was OK .So she went down stairs to meet her mother.
She handed the muffins to her and told her to give them to them.
They walked next door and found Mrs.Giles in the yard telling one of the movers where she wanted the desk to go she smiled as she saw them.
She wore long velvet dress it was a dark red she had long curly hair that was a brownish gold she walked over to them and shook her mothers hand saying " you must be the next door neighbors?"
" yes I'm Joyce and this is my daughter Buffy."
buffy smiled and handed her the muffins "it very nice to meet you and we hope you like it here."
" thank you buffy so far we are doing fine my husband is at the school see about the library position so you'll have to meet him latter "
"if you don't mind me asking how old are you buffy?"
"14"
" Oh how nice I have a son who is 17 so if you'll wait a minute you can meet him."
she smiled and walked two steps when a the young boy walked around the truck with a cell phone in his hand
" There you are William."
he held up a finger to tell her he'd be with her in a minute and went on talking to the person on the other line.
"I know but you know if I could I'd be there with you I didn't want to leave."
His voice was soft and smooth just hearing it made buffys knees go weak not to mention the way he looked.
His peroxide blond hair was spiked up, he wore a black, sleeveless,sex pistols shirt with safety pins stuck all over the front, a pair of tight,ripped blue jeans, and a old pair or boots. He wore a chain with a pad lock on it around his neck along with a black beaded one with little metal spikes on it, two black leather cuffs with metal studs where on both wrist; silver rings adorned his thumbs and fingers; he wore a diamond stud in his left ear.
He looked like the kind of person she had only read about in magazines or saw in movies. The bad boy who everyone falls in love with.
She held in the sigh that wanted to escaped her throat when he looked her way. He was very handsome. His eyes where a deep blue like the ocean after a storm, he wore black eyeliner which made them stand out more he had a scar on his left eyebrow, accentuated by a metal barbell piercing, his lips where full and lush and his cheek bones she guessed where good for cutting diamonds on.
He kept on talking "don't be like that luv.you know I love you."
That was all it took his mother frond and said "is that that little harlot give me that phone now!"
He looked at her and said "leave dru alone mum, she misses me."
" yeah I bet she dose the only thing that girl is good for is getting you in trouble" with that she grabbed the phone out of his hand he made a grab for it but was to late she put it to her mouth and started yelling
" you listen here you little harlot you leave my boy alone we moved out here to get away from you.You get him in nothing but trouble if you call him again I'll tell your foster father about the stunt you pulled before we left." with that she snapped the phone shut and handed it back to the stunned boy
"Thanks a lot mum she'll never call me back now "
"Good you don't need to talk with her after what she did to you."
"That wasn't her fault "
"Shut it I would like you to meet our new neighbors the summers this is Joyce."she pointed at her " and this is her lovely daughter buffy" she pointed at buffy who smiled at him. " this is my son William."
" Mum you know I don't like being called that."
"That is what I named you that is what I will call you." she glared at her son "now say hello "
He rolled his eyes and shook hands with Joyce and said he was happy to meet her then he looked at the girl standing next to her.
She had long blond hair and was wearing tight, blue jeans that flared at the bottom, a red,long sleeved, shirt that hung down to cover her hands. She had hazel eyes and a mouth that looked so soft.
He wondered if she was a natural bound and what he would give to find out. He smiled as she looked him the eye he reached out to shake her hand.
She carefully took his hand and shook it and said "its a pleasure to meet you William"
He flinched at her using his real name and pulled her hand to his mouth and gave her a kiss on the knuckles
"no the pleasure is all mine." He grinned at her
His mother smiled "you'll have to excuse my son he's quite the charmer when he want to be buffy. Your mother has told me that you are doing algebra. You must be quite smart."
Buffy blushed leave it to her mother to embarrassed her.
"no not really. I just get by on the skin of my teeth. Algebra is really hard and some times I just don't get it."
"oh I know what you mean but will loves it he a math wiz that why I can't understand why he's taking it again this year."
"you said it your self cuz, I like it ." He smiled at buffy "what classes you got?"
" oh ..um..well Algebra, English, history, chemistry, home ech, plus of course p.e. and Latin."
"your taken Latin?"
she looked at him why was he so shocked that he was taken Latin.
"yes I tried to get her to take Spanish or French I told her Latin was a dead language..."
"no its not my son is fluent in Latin ,Spanish, French and germen."
"wow that quite inpressvie William." Joyce smiled at him.
He looked at her "My pop taught me when I was growing up."
"maybe you could help buffy study in Latin and algebra?'
Buffy was shocked that her mother would be so bold her mouth fell open as she gasped " MOM"
"what he could help you. You said that you were getting by on the skin of your teeth maybe he could help you with that."
" I would love to help out if that's OK."
She didn't need his help but she knew better then to tell him that in front of her mom so she said instead "That would be great."
"mom can I go I told will and xander I would talk to them latter we are suppose to go to the bronze tonight they wanted to know if I was coming or not."
"The bronze?"
" yes its where the kids go these days it just a little club." she tuned to her daughter " you may go but I want you back home by 10 OK?"
"Fine mom god you treat me like a kid." buffy started to walk off when her mother said " honey why don't you take William with you?"
She spun around what did she just say take William with her she could not believe her luck
" if that's OK with his mother that is?"
"oh that would be a great way for you to meet some people honey go on you may go. There is no drinking at this club right?" she turned to buffy on the last part.
" no they stamp your hand if your under age." Joyce said with a smile.
"oh god have fun. Will the same goes for you when buffy leaves you are to come home with her.We have that meeting with Mr.synder in the morning to get you enrolled."
He walked away "yeah cuz,that would be a crime to be late for that." he mumbled as he walked down the street next to buffy.
She groaned what would the willow and xander say about william.Then she thought about cordy what would she say at school the next day when she saw her with him at the bronze.
She could only imagine what she would say about him.
This was going to be a long night.
