Love/Hate kind of person

When I watch Firefly I feel like I love Jayne, and then I hate Jayne. But never enough to really hate him.
Is there anyone here that either loves him, or hates him? And if you are like me, where you love and hate him, and love to have it that way.... why?

I love him. He's all about himself, and that gets him in trouble most of the time. Near the end he is still like that but he manages to grow a bit and not be completely oh so you're going to die.. I don't care. Some of the time he's like that but not all the time. Well not every single second anyway. I liked that he was willing to do almost anything to sell out his crew at times, and then on other occasions he was there in the thick of things right along side them. He had a wise mouth, talked his mind, and didn't hold too much in. At time he could be abrasive, but that is what his character was. He's the hero of Canton. Come on you have to love him!

I'm about halfway through the episodes and I get what you are saying. He is a complicated guy, lol. I just watched the one where he betrayed Simon and River and I wanted to kill him. But then there was the episode where he was the folk hero on that planet and that just killed me and he was very honorable, trying to do the right thing. I guess I just hate some of the things he does. (loved how Mal got back at him for betraying his crew, though).
