Lovin' Wes

Does anyone else find it odd that the Wes we met on Buffy could become the Wes of late-season Angel? I find it surprising that I could grow to LOVE the character we saw on Buffy. I HATED Wes on Buffy. As far as my love for him, it didn't take effect until season 3, when I saw his love for Fred. Even though I adored Fred and Gunn as a couple, I always believed that she belonged with Wesley. I know a lot of people hated Wes for stealing Connor, but the man did the right thing! If the prophecy was true, Angel never would've forgiven himself for killing his son. The Angel we all knew and loved would be lost forever. As much as I loved Dark Wes, my favorite version of Wes was season 5 Wes. I loved seeing him happy with Fred, if only for an instant and I loved the way he responded to her death. It was the way I would have liked Angel to act after Buffy's death in season 5. Wes was lost without Fred and I felt the same.

yeah, i admit that the Wes we met on BTVS was a bit of a square, but i thought he was kinda cute! definetely nothing compared to the Wes of Angel S3 onwards, but i liked him.
i loved Wes in the laster seasons of Angel, but i gotta disagree with the Wes did the right thing taking Connor comment. he didn't do the right thing. he might have thought it was the only option, but he could have told someone, Fred, Gunn, Angel and they could have helped stop the prophecy come true. if Angel knew of the prophecy, he would have done anything to stop himself from killing Connor, even let Wes take him away...which would have been okay 'cause Angel gave his blessing. doing it behind everyone's back like that was plain wrong...but it did open Wes's character a bit more and we got to see yet another side of Wes, so i'll stop complaining now! 😀

Wesley rules!

His character developed so much between the shows like you said, and its amazing to watch. I thought season 3 Wesley was hilarious, unable to control his slayers, and 'allowing' Giles to work as his 'assistant' lol. I think he may actually be my favourite character. Him and fred were great, but him and Lilah was great to watch. Dark wes was awesome! After he got his throat cut he changed, and his character got so much more interesting to watch! Amazingly acted, he got all the best lines, every single Wesley type was great to watch!

In regards to the whole taking connor thing, I dont necisarily think he did the right thing. In fact he definately didnt do the right thing. The right thing would've been to find out the prophecy was fake, and it was Sajahn(spelt wrong) would infact kill Angel rather than Angel.Under the circumstances I think he did what he thought was right, and thats even for me to think he did the right thing. plus in the end if he hadnt done it like Lyri said 'it did open Wes's character a bit more and we got to see yet another side of Wes, so i'll stop complaining now!'

Yeah Wesley is one of the things that makes you love the series, by being able to see how much he deleloped as a character!
