Joan the Vampire Slayer
Carpe Spuffy!
Now, I have read quite a lot of articles, non-fiction etc on Buffy/Angel and it's surprising to me that not everyone agrees on what the main themes are of the show's respective seasons are.
Gregory Stevenson, in his great book I'm reading right now, Televised Morality The Case of Buffy the Vampire Slayer , categorizes each season by these themes:
S1. Identity and Destiny.
S2. Love and Relationships ( I might also add Sacrifice)
S3. Betrayal and Change.
S4. Adjustment and the Danger of Science and Technology.
S5. Family.
S6. Mistakes and Bad Decisions, Addiction, Immaturity. Instead of "High School is Hell" "Life is hell."
S7. Return to the Beginning. Power in regards to female empowerment. (I might add Domination)
I guess what I'm curious about is: What do you guys think of these? I think they're pretty accurate. What themes would you add or remove from this "list"?
