The Joss Whedon panel is presenting today at Comic-Con and a fan is sitting in the audience with a laptop relaying info to Whedonesque.com. This is what they've got so far.

New Serenity Collector's Edition DVD includes River Tam Sessions. Joss has the DVD in hand, guves it a hug. August in stores.

What has Joss done for us lately? Well, he WROTE WW, but so much for that. Goners is biggest part of his life right now. Been getting studio notes about how the script can be better. And they're right.

Drew Goddard, tall and kind of sexy, and Joss have written a movie together. This will be secret, right? Called Cabin In the Woods, and it's the horror film to end horror films, literally.

Not set yet, but it looks like sometime next year, he'll finally get to film Ripper.

90 minute Ripper for BBC. Everybody in the same frame of mind that it should happen and will happen soon. Been talking with Tony Head.

Joss is getting sick and tired of not entertaining us enough, so he wants to do things, like Ripper, that can be done quickly. Lots of creepy things in the back of his brain that he needs to get out.

Really wants to focus on filmed entertainment, but can't stop writing Buffy comic, almost like a drug. Not giving Brian Vaughn a huge amount of notes. After Brian, two one shots by Joss before Drew Goddard's issues.

Is working on a short ballet starring Summer Glau. Called "The Serving Girl." Writing music.

The Angel comic that Brian Lynch is writing. Maxi series - 12 issues. Knows where season 8 of BtVS is ending, but he knows what happens in Season 9. What happens after the fall of Wolfram and Hart, and what happens is very bad. Bigger special effects budget than on TV. Wesley? He's dead, so obviously he's going to be the star...

A ballet. Cool. So, he's a classical composer now too? Or is it gonna be more pop numbers, etc...hmm. Ripper, neat. Hope we get some video or an honest-to-goodness transcript of all this (although the blogging's impressive).

My first reaction when I heard the ballet remark was, "Is that a joke?" You're right GB. We need context.
 
Looking forward to Goners.
Cabin in the Woods? Intriguing.
Serenity special edition DVD? No thanks, no double dipping for that.
Fray? Pass.
Comics? Eh.
Ballet? Gag me.
Ripper? Maybe...Giles isn't that interesting without the Scoobies, IMO. "The Dark Age" bored the hell out of me upon first viewing. Depends on what the format of the show is though.

The CW has expressed interest in working with him, I hope he would develop a new show for them, unrelated to Buffy or Firefly, something new (but in the horror/supernatural genre).
 
its not often i go "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" (an excited squeal lol) but i just did.

serenity special edition -why not. more extra features. i remember them saying it had a cast commentary at one point...awesomeness
goners - dont know much about this but its joss. yay.
cabin in the woods - intriguing! drew goddard rules! interesting to see how they shake up the genre!
ripper - REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
big damned sequel - i think we're all up for a sequel. how great would that be!
season 8 - oz=cool. but not really a shock. hasnt he aleady said he's gonna cover most of the characters from buffy at some point.
the serving girl - i laughed, but i'd definately watch it.
fray - REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! more fray is needed.
angel season 6 - hmmmm. i'm a little bit scared that joss isnt writing, and brian lynch is doing it all...i didnt like spike:asylum...but still i'm gonna get it. more wesley! a link to season 9 of buffy?

So, is there going to be a sequel to Serenity or was Joss simply saying that he'd do it if the studio greenlights it? Confused here.
 
The impression I got was he'd like to do one, and because of the popularity of the DVD, it might be possible. I forget where I read this, but apparently the studio makes the larger chunk of it's money from the DVD.
 
That's cool. If they can make it on a smaller budget they'd probably go for it. I bet now Firefly fans will be rallying to mass purchase Serenity DVDs. Ha.
 
OMG! Possible Serenity squel, Ripper, Oz...i've died and gone to heaven!! lol this all sounds tres cool. can't wait to see if it all pans out! 😀
 
lyri, at first glance, it looked like you said 'all these trees sound cool' :silly:. hehe.

anyway, the ripper stuff, and the season 8 stuff sounds super exciting! oz oz oz! wesley wesley wesley! and even if giles is not my all time favourite character, if there is any sort of movie/tv involving the buffyverse, i'll be there with bells on! 😀 but alas, its BBC! i dont get that; oh no! 🙁 but still a ton of general yayness!
 
Gah, all of that sounds really awesome, or well actually some of it sounds weird, but when I ad Joss to it it all makes sense in my mind. A ballet? Hm, I really would like to know more about that.
 
I've been eagerly anticipating Ripper since it was first announced, all those years ago 🙂, so if Joss completes nothing else on his exciting to do list I'll still be a very happy Pointy if he and ASH manage to finally make it. I'd prefer it if he managed to finish all of them, obviously...🙂

Love it! I read on imdb that Joss was doing "Goners," but other than that, it didn't seem like he had much going on.

I am glad to hear that he is itching to do some more entertaining; im sure whatever he does will be great.

Serenity SE?-buying it the day it comes out!!

All the news sounds great, but knowing the world (and past experiences) I'm not going to get my hopes up on a lot of these announcements. I really hope they all happen though!
