Male, but unhappy about it. Defo gone through phases when I'd have clicked the third option.

I'm a girl.

I can't believe how many more girls like this show compared to the boys! The strange thing is the only 2 people I know in real life that are into the show (almost) as much as me are both blokes!

Maybe it's just that more girls are likely to fangirl in general and join a forum!

Ditto. Maybe that has to do with the fact that the majority of my friends are male. But yeah, my four closest male friends all love Buffy. OK, they'd never join a forum about it, but watched it when it aired, watch the reruns and even read the comics.

And I am just realising that I have (unintentionally) surrounded myself with Buffy fans. lol

I'm female. My old best friend (who's a guy) used to love Buffy, he even put the theme song on at a party once and got people to mosh to it 😛 But other than him I'm not sure I know many other guys who like it.

I'm female. But on every board I've ever been on, girls always outnumbered the boys. Maybe forums are a girl thing! Or maybe I just have a lot of girly fandoms.

Women do seem more likely to spend time on forums in general.
I think it is always regarded a chick show by males until males watch the show and discover otherwise. Most of my shows females watch mostly but i think that is because girls get into the couples etc more than males.

I am a female.

Well the cliche is that lebsians are Buffy's main audience anyways...

conversation a few years ago:
Me: Buffy is my favourite show.
Guy: So you're a lesbian?
Me: (I didn't actually say anything anymore, I just stared)

Well I'm female.

I'm a gal. Probably not the most typical one out there, something to do with a fondness for other gals and football, but still, pretty much a female.

Male.

I never realised it was widely regarded as a chick show, I would have assumed it was a teenage boy kinda show if you'd asked me.

I'm female.

I'm always interested in the male/female divide in fandoms. In my experience fandom is predominantly female, though there's no way of knowing if that's a true representation of actual fans.

Thinking about Hallowhedon last year, I was quite surprised at how many blokes there were there; I was expecting a large majority of women based on my experience with online fandom.

It is? Must have escaped me completely. I can be very blind about certain things. If anything I thought that Buffy, as Glee, in a lot of peooples mind (usually those not watching) attracted females and gay guys.
