Male or Female?

If you had the choice, no matter which one you are right now (and forever), would you choose to be a male or a female, and why?

I love being a male, wouldn't change it. Though I do sometimes wonder what it would be like if I was female. Since I'm short, I feel like I'd probably be considered normal and probably pretty damn attractive (if I do say so myself) as a female. Plus it'd be awesome to always have boobs to play with 😛

Although I don't like the suboriented position women have in society I love being a woman. I wouldn't change it. I wouldn't be me then. Although in a perfect world, gender wouldn't be a issue of course 😀

I like being female. In my country, males have to go for National Service for two years when they're eighteen, so... But I prefer the clothes that guys wear. I mean, they can just wear collared shirts and call it formal, but girls have to wear dresses and stuff, and I don't even have a skirt or dress in my closet. So I'm a tomboy, but I like being a girl.

And it doesn't have to be in a sexual manner, I just like the way they feel. And I think penises are super gross. I would hate having one and having to touch one all the time. I just think they're weird and I do not want to have one. Plus I like dresses and while I do believe in tearing down the gender dichotomy in the clothes that we wear (aka I believe it is ok for women to wear "men's" clothing and men can wear dresses and other "women's" items), the rest of society doesn't. Ordinarily, I don't care about society... but I like it when people say "cute dress" when I'm wearing a cute dress. if a guy were to go outside wearing a dress, no matter how cute it was, he would not get a "cute dress" unless it was in a mocking way from some alpha male types.

I hate boobs. Hate them. Mine anyway. They were always too big and it's really uncomfortable. They just seem to create so many problems. I wish I didn't have boobs at all. I want to be as flat as a boy. I developed early too, so I've always had body issues, which also led to eating disorders.

Well, I reduced them, surgery wise 3 years ago. Before that I think they were cup G, not really sure. Then they were C. But as of today, they're back to being big, so I wear 38D. Imagine a 12 year old girl with breasts with a cup G. I was super skinny and short too.

Oh. I get that. My sister has G cups. She's getting reduction surgery when she turns 18. She's had the "special sizes" (E+) since she was 13. And she hates her boobs. So I get that. She's reducing them to a D because everyone in my family is a D cup.

I'm 38D and I like this size. Although sometimes I wish I was a C cup so clothes fit better...

I'm 38D and I like this size. Although sometimes I wish I was a C cup so clothes fit better...

C I can live with, it's great even. Bigger than that... so uncomfortable.

I honestly don't know. Maybe because I'm feminine for a guy. I think I need convincing. What's so great about being a female?

On the negative side (or tell me I'm wrong). General meaning of course:
Menstruation
Being (more afraid) of being harmed/abused by men in various ways.
"Having" the pressure to be pretty and thin. I really would hate feeling I have to put on make-up in the morning.
If you're strong willed and independant many will look down on you or at least be suspicious.
Might be underpaid because of your gender.
Giving birth although painful might be a blessing but being afraid of getting pregnant when you don't want to can't be easy at times.
More often expected to be the nice, helpful and smart one.

Obviously no matter what gender you will have something to "live up to" in the eyes of others so I'm not saying being a guy is better. And I won't do a list of the bad sides of being a guy. But it would be interesting to see what females think. Now, convince me! Boobs won't help. I can sadly play with my own... 😉

You make a lot of good points... I don't wear makeup - cause I'm lazy, but the pressure be pleasant always is on, and I don't think (though I don't know) guys feel it as much....It's like, I feel expected to smile at everyone who looks at me, but then that could be just me and a weird smile response I have.

I always answer the same way to these kind of questions. Whether it's would you wanna be female? Would you wanna be black? Would you wanna be asian? Would you wanna be this or that celebrity? The answer is a big fat NO! I like who I am, I wouldn't wanna be someone else. And anyway, if I was supposed to be someone else, I wouldn't be me. 😛

I think guys have it easier. I wouldn't mind being a guy because I wouldn't have to deal with makeup, clothes, waxing etc. It would be a load off, but I definitely prefer being a chick 🙂

Not really. You don't walk around being afraid of being physically abused by men or anything...

I'm naturally thin, so I don't worry about that. And I don't think anyone can do anything about the looks they're born with. I don't bother with makeup at all, but then again, I'm still pretty young so they don't expect it.

Nope. It's pretty fun to thwart other people's expectations of you with your actual personality. I don't think they would look down at you for having a strong character (unless you're bossy and overbearing, I guess).

Great thing about being female? Getting the guys to move stuff. You won't have to keep chairs or move cabinets because manual labour is for guys.

Oh, I'd always be a girl. I'm such a girl. If I was a boy, it'd be awkward because (saying I was still me in everything but gender), I'd be that kid who everyone knew would be gay but isn't (I'm the exact opposite now). That'd be horrible. I'm maternal and overly sensitive and I love skirts and dresses and I blush easily and I like magical girl shows and romantic stories and love.

Okay, enough with the run on sentences... anyway.

I am so classic girl that I can't imagine being anything but. I'm not even a feminist (and honestly, I don't believe in gender equality at all). I cook and clean and wear dresses and try to be kind and helpful to everyone. My one quality that isn't classic feminine is that I really don't care for doing my hair and makeup, and that's just because I prefer my beauty sleep. I don't want to get up five minutes earlier to look fancy. I just want to throw a flower in my hair and put on a dress and heels and go out looking natural.

Female. I love being a girl; mostly for superficial reasons. The dresses, nail polish, long hair, makeup, perfume, high heels etc.

The only way I'd want to be a male was if I knew I'd be tall and super athletic...that way I could play in the NBA. 😉
