It was posted on Whedonesque that Marti Noxen has joined the writers of Glee. Since so many people on this board watch Glee I was just wondering everyone's thoughts?

As a fan of good writing I confess that Glee really is a guilty pleasure but I'm curious to see what Marti can do to help it. While I'm optimistic Glee's main problem (in my humble opinion) is there isn't a consistent admirable female character. Can a Buffy writer fix that? Regardless I'll keep watching as long as Kurt and Blaine are on 🙂

Maybe now I can convince my Glee loving friends that BTVS is worth watching because they have the same writers !!

....probably won't work tho.

But seriously this is really cool I'm hoping this will help Glee since there is no real plot.....

That's funny. I'll never convince my Buffy friends to give Glee a chance for the carefree romp that it is.
I love Glee (guilty pleasure also) and love that Marti is joining the writers 🙂 to mimick what's been previously said I hope she can give Glee some direction to go in as some of the plots you can figure a mile off.

I'm really excited about this. I just hope the writers can make the next season smoother in terms of continuity.

She's definitely my fave Buffyverse writer besides Joss. And although I don't see ensouled vampires wanting to audition for New Directions (too much glitter), I'm sure she's gonna rock it. 🙂

This is good maybe she will help like Caritas said make some of the female characters great. I hope she helps to make the writing a bit better as well 🙂

As someone who just watched the season 2 finale (and didn't care for it at all) I'm quite glad to see this. I'm hoping she can put some spark back into the show! 🙂

Not bad news at all but no guarantee for sucess. I'm curious as I was with Joss's episode but in all honesty it isn't much more.

Glee - Storyline? There is a storyline? Apart from a school having a Glee club that is?
I thought the show was all about the singing.
His girlfriend, her girlfriend, his boyfriend her boyfriend, a principal who 'seems' to be a (use your own family unfriendly terms to describe him).
Not exactly a show that is known for a good storyline, and if the producers of the show introduce a halfway decent storyline now, then the rating will drop significantly as there won't be much time for singing.

The first 13 episodes of the series were excellent, but I steadily lost interest after that. I stopped watching completely after the first few episodes of season 2 sucked.

Maybe Noxon can help, but I think its a little late for that now.

The series has definitely lacked in plot lately other than love triangles and "Who's gay" or "Who's questioning their sexuality" storylines... I am hoping Marti Noxon can help breathe some life into the show and bring some fresh ideas into it, otherwise I'm afraid Season 3 might be the last one.

Hmmm. I wasn't that keen on her work during Buffy, mainly because I absolutely loathe the idea of Buffy/Spike. Also, I wasn't too happy with the direction they took Spike.

When she moved to Grey's Anatomy, I wasn't happy with the way things were going on that show either.

Now she's onto Glee. I love that show. That show is at least in my top three. I can't say I'm too happy about this but hey, third time's the charm right?

If it turns out that this is the best season ever, I'll just chalk up BtVS/GA to unfortunate coincidences.

Very much agree on what she did on BTVS and GA.

Because of the Spuffy thing I'm afraid she won't let Finchel be because I think they're too 'happily ever after' for her..
I don't agree, I loved Marti's work on buffy and angel, and I loved the direction she took with Spike. But I don't really watch Glee. I watch The Glee Project, but I don't watch Glee. So good for her!!! But i don't really care that much.

I really didn't like Season 2. I'm praying Marti will breathe new life into the show and I'll fall back in love with it in the new season. 'Cause if not, I'll be done after this one.
