Marti Noxon as Willow's singing double

I agree that it's good Willow - or anyone else - wasn't dubbed.
In the French version, it's ridiculous (I could stop right there, cos the French version is generally ridiculous), because many of the usual "dubbers" didn't want to sing so they used other people, whose voices didn't sound anything like that sometimes !! Such as the woman singing for Tara. OMG ! It's so stupid ! But a few things are fine. Luckily the woman dubbing Buffy is also a singer so it was agreeable.
If you're interested I could post mp3s of the French version songs. Some are sorta good.

I have the French songs. So only the Buffy dubber sang in the French version while the others had other singers singing for them. I have to say, the Tara singing voice as well as Anya were were the worst.

Actually, no. The dubbers that didn't have other people singing for them were the ones for Buffy, Anya (yes. Imagine my pain listening to her voice every single episode. Thank God now I have the DVDs and all French version is just dust in the wind. (though as I go through the mp3s, I'm not sure it was the same person actually... I can't remember her exact French-version voice and noone in the world will make me listen to it again without good payment)), Xander, Spike.

In the end, the only people that got dub-dubbed (=D) were for Giles, Willow (it doesn't sound ANYTHING like her usual voice), Tara (omg. Tara.)...
About Dawn, I can't remember.

I'll try to post the mp3s later.

Again, I'm sooo glad now I can watch Buffy ONLY in original version. I hate french versions, of anything. It always sucks. ALWAYS. In all shows. I could give you some horrible examples but I don't want US and UK to hate France. France is quite good. If you can forget about its dubbing companies and its government.

hmm i think they all kind of have annoying voices and everyone apart from tara sounded how they would normally speak. the annoyingness makes me love them even more...its cute almost. it was a great episode but it would of been interesting if hush was the musical instead of once more with feeling. hush is one of my favourite episodes, but i guess its good then, about hush not being the musicial and it being the scariest episode instead.

i thought alyson did ok in "i have a theory" but her line in walk through the fire sounded very heavily edited, it really sounded crap in that song. Im also glad she didnt get any more lines.

^ Same here, actually, although Marti Noxon's little song cracked me up. I actually laughed out loud at the "Hey, I'm not wearing underwear" line. If they had used her as Willow's singing double, I doubt I would have complained.

I didn't think SMG did that bad (well, after all the singing lessons I'm gussing the cast had to take). Alyson said that she was very surprised about the technology that made her sound good. So that wasn't all Aly's voice. So I'm guessing they did that vocal editing to most of the cast who didn't really sing well. As for Willow, it's true that in "Nightmares" Willow was very traumatic about her singing. But in OMWF, Willow actually thought it was neat.
But I think the worst singer was Nick.

In I'll Never Tell, when Anya and Xander first sing "I'll never tell" together, I can't tell if Xander is trying to sing the same note or harmonize- he's so off! Luckily- he had to his advantage his good performership and he was really good at making the character come out while he was singing... something I think James Marsters failed in a bit... I think he got a bit too into the music and lost just a teeny bit of Spike.

On another note, I absolutely LOVE the part in "Something to Sing About" where Giles goes "She needs backup! Anya! Tara!" Not only because the pun is hillarious, but because it's like telling poor Willow "We've seen/heard what you can do! Step aside!"
