Iono if it's really a step up. I watched it last night and kept thinking "okay Impress me". I don't think it ever did. It was likable but I expected more. I'll give it time because it has such an interesting cast.

I saw the ad on IMDb; it looked like a quality show, but also like a show about macho-men... so, I'll probably not be watching it, when it reaches this side of the Atlantic.

I liked it.
I think it's a little too early for a definite opinion, but it has a ton of potential.
Right now, my personal opinion is, it's complex, well put together, confusing in an interesting way, exceptionally well acted, and speaking of quality - dripping of it.
I think it's either going to be a big hit, or one of those cancelled classics that scores on DVD, and never really goes away like Firefly or Wonderfalls.

It's a great show full of suspense and like Faith said, intelligence. I do think the show needs more women in the cast.

I disagree with the idea Prison Break lacks estrogen.
Three of the most powerful characters are women.
The doctor: My God, did you see the last episode? She's bravely fighting off a sector of the prison filled with rapist killers.
The Lawyer: She's making a ton of sacrifices (that takes strength), and showing all kinds of smarts - street and office.
The Voice Behind the Phone: She appears to be the big bad of the season. We've only begun to see what she's all about.

they started sending this show here in norway on thursday, the first 2 eps 😉 i liked it. they have a likable story, they have a great cast, and though the setting is a male prison might give the impression that there are no female characters(or main chars) i do agree with N4H that there are some good, strong female characters.
